I like the train-of-thought style of introducing your character. Good stuff :)

Your world building is well executed; I’m already interested in the character without you giving too much away. A lot of people have the tendency to make a biography of the main chatacter before telling the story, but you've given enough mystery to make me want to learn more. I’m invested in this story because I can’t wait to see what action and adventure is ahead.
