Wow, thank you for sharing this story with me! I just finished reading it, and it really touched my heart.
I especially loved the opening scene of the sea of flames – the garbage mountain set on fire, the cruelty of the nobles, and the way Dragon appeared in the middle of all that chaos… I could almost smell the smoke and hear the screams. And then Neil walking out of the fire – that image was so powerful. A child walking through the flames so quietly, so cleanly… just imagining it gave me chills.
What moved me the most was that Dragon, someone who carries so much weight on his shoulders, still chose to crouch down and look a strange child in the eye, then gently push him into the safety of the shadows. That moment was so tender. And later in Loguetown, when Neil was in danger again, Dragon appeared once more, using the wind to help him and show him the way… The line, “The connection lost on the night of flames was finally picked up again in the rainy city of wind” – that warmed my heart.
I also really like Neil as a character. In that critical moment, when he said, “This time I’ll rely on myself,” and pushed his powers to the limit – that stubbornness and calmness made me both admire him and feel for him. He’s still just a child, yet he has to face so many dangers…
All in all, reading this made me feel that the world-building is really unique – blending magic with elements of One Piece – and the character interactions have so much warmth. It makes me want to know more about who Neil is, what natural force magic is, and whether they’ll meet again. Thank you for sharing this story – it really brightened my day 😊
