"What?" Meghan says. Chocolate drips from one side of her mouth. We're all discussing about the carnival coming up this Saturday.

Meghan laughs and offers each one of us a piece. It's delicious, the chocolate is smooth and sweet with the tangy flavor of strawberries making it the best combination ever.

Meghan has dark brown, wavy hair with round brown eyes. Her skin the color of honey and a very sweet, clear smile. I've always envied how perfect her teeth are without getting any braces. We've known each other since kindergarten and it's been eleven years already. From that day onwards we decided to add each other on Skype which was the best decision ever since our conversation went on for more than three hours almost every weekend. Alyssa and I... Well we don't really go way back but she became one of my close friends since last year. Our friendship bloomed the day I dumped my previous friend group which I later found out was very toxic and bad for me. I got bullied in ways that I didn't take much notice at first but everytime I went home. I would cry at night and wished that things changed for the better and they did. Because I found a person who was interested to hear my side of the story and they let me know theirs too. Alyssa told me that she'd been in a similar situation like mine.

We reach our class and sit down for our next period. It’s science which I prefer over math any day. It was a wish come true since our teacher for math was absent and also a miracle because Sir Liam never skips a day. One time, it was raining down really hard in the middle of nowhere and we were sure that our math class was definitely canceled but lo and behold, there stood Sir Liam, with books and folders tightly held against his chest and with another hand, he held an umbrella.

"Good morning students! The weather is really great isn’t it? I was sure the weather forecast predicted it would be sunny all day but oh well, you can never fully trust it, can you?" he said with a smile.
I internally groaned and so did all the other students except for Hazel. It wasn’t surprising for us to see how happy she seemed that our math teacher didn’t skip that day, she was the best student he considered anyway.
