Cognito - One shot

Mia woke up from her long slumber.

As she tries to open her eyes, she realized she can't do it. Panicking, she also tried to move any parts of her body but to no avail.

Accelerated by losing her sense of sight, she slowly hears muffled voices from outside her room.

It sounds like their tone is somewhat worried about something.

She tries to calm down and let her ears assess her surroundings.

She hears monitors beeping, paging calls from announcements, busy people, and even an apparatus that sounds like pumping something.

By connecting the dots, she realizes that she is in the hospital and memories of an accident crashes to her ears.

Her panicked breathing is now audible to her, so she calms down and slowly breathes in and out.

As her nerves calm down, she hears different sounds that are somewhat familiar to her.

She hears a car moving together with music and a guy humming to its tunes.

She hears the window of the car beside her open and the gush of wind welcomes her together with birds chirping.

The guy laughed.

The sound shifted, she hears waves, like they are in a boat.

The guy calmly told her "hold tight princess"

She then hears children laughing and crushing of the sand in her feet.

Then she hears cow's moo and sheep's mee.

Then rather than a car, she heard a motorcycle starting and the guy earlier asking her "let's go, don't let go, okay?"

Until everything stopped.

Rather than the calming voice of the guy, she now hears panic all around her.

People murmuring and hospital sirens around, but she hears her partner clearly. "Mia! Mia! Princess! Wake up! Open your eyes, please! PLEASE!"

She goes back to reality.

Now she knows.

She is in the hospital.

Badly battered because a truck collided with their motorcycle.

A vacation that was supposed to be their date, ended with a horrible accident.

She heard the door open and footsteps slowly approaching her.

The guy is sniffing his tears.
