The mechanic sound of the toaster vaguely resonates around the apartment room as a girl's staring absent-mindedly at it. She twirled her hair, humming her favorite morning song. Because she isn't paying attention to the toaster when the "pip" sound echoed up after a few minutes, the girl flinches out of her daydream. She quickly takes the bread out and put it into her mouth whilst walking out of her apartment. It's not an everyday thing for her to be like this, but since a major plot-twist incident happened yesterday, apparently the young girl had grew out a new morning routine which includes staring at a toaster for half an hour. Yes, half an hour, with 5 minutes of staring at the bread thus putting it inside the toaster right after, and the rest of it spent staring at the rectangular looking machine. May it be or may not it be because she stared at the machine too much, she's starting to think it's quite beautiful and unique. The girl kept on walking across the street when she heard a voice getting closer from behind--an energetic voice to be precise.
"Midoriii~!!! Good morning!!" The voice cheerfully greeted whilst wrapping an enthusiast arm around the girl's shoulder
"What is the worst thing to encounter in the rear morning and why is it having a stupid kid wrapping an arm around your shoulder?" Midori complained, shrugging the "kid's" arm off
"Ehhh Midori meann, I'm simply sympathetically sharing happiness with you in the dull morning," the 'kid' whined
"Kenji..." Midori annoyingly whimpered "If you're being absolutely genuine about making my morning more happier, then fucking off is a very good suggestion from me."
"...another mean word, I absolutely can't understand what you're saying." Kenji pursed his lip.
"Who are you to not to know 'mean' words, a god or something?" Midori gave Kenji an irritated look thus walking ahead of him.
"Wait, Midori! Heyyy, wait up!" Kenji reached a hand in an attempt to pull Midori back but instead got outwit by her speed "Meannn."
As Midori walked into the school gate, her eyes automatically glanced over to a familiar angelic figure: Ayame - her senior. Obviously like always she's being surrounded by quite a crowd, being popular sure is...
"Cool" Kenji popped out of nowhere behind Midori, and the girl thought she already left him behind
"Huh- what the-Kenji, you are weird." Midori scolded Kenji, "it's fucking tiresome if you're popular you know?"
"I mean yea, but being surrounded by a crowd who adores you, it's nice..." Kenji gave a deep, admirable stare over to the pink-haired senior
Midori opened her mouth as if she's about to say something but stop afterwards, she slowly understands what Kenji is feeling and suddenly want that for herself too. It was a vague idea, but the feeling inside her is screaming passionately, she could feel her heart beating just by thinking of it.
'A crowd who adores you, huh...'
"Well, as if that's gonna happen so let's head to class!" Kenji patted his friend's back, grinning
Even though Kenji kinda had an intention of giving up, the idea of having a crowd stood in front of her stuff Midori's mind the whole math period. Resulting in her slacking off, hence, when the teacher called on her, Midori perplexingly looked back at the teacher and of course got to stand outside for a nice amount of time. It was gonna be a bad day until her senior crush walks pass her, she seems to remember her since she glanced back and give Midori a warm smile, making her all flush up. The girl let out a sigh, burying her face into her palms, everyday the love she have for her senior grew, alongside with that love is the desire of confessing it to her, but Midori didn't have the courage to do it. Her senior would think she's weird anyway...it's a girl confessing to her after...
The period-ending bell rang, cutting out Midori's chain out thoughts overflowing her. She looked up from her palms, mumbling some curses before meeting up with Kenji down the cafeteria.
"How was class?"
"I'm really gonna punch you this time" Midori pulled up a fist as to show she's being serious.
"Whattt? What did I ever do?" Kenji whimpered, backing away though he change into a mocking voice tone immediately after that "Actually, just kidding I asked your classmate, how was the sightseeing?"
"You want to experience that?"
"Nah, I'm a large-hearted friend. I will leave that experience to you"
"Ugh, whatever..." Midori shrugged, after a blankly stare at the sky, she remembers the thing earlier which they discussed "Hey, about earlier-"
As if being timed, a dull voice spoke out of the school's speaker and with the amplification effect, the sound got louden up a hundred more times, it cuts Midori voice half-way. The announcement wasn't anything major either, it was just the student council reminding students about recess' rules, ugh, as if we need to be reminded, we're not babies.
"Huh? What were you tryna say earlier?" Kenji asked
She didn't know if it was because of the sudden noises or not, but she suddenly forgot what she was trying to ask. Midori vaguely shook her head:
"Oh it was nothing"
Kenji frowned, "Weird" he continued after being playfully snitch by his friend "If you got nothing more to say I'm going to the student council."
"Student council? What're you gonna do there?" Midori raised her eyebrows
"Gotta turn in these paperworks, our class' president's been lazing around these days"
"Hmmm" The girl hums in her throat, she pushed him forward whilst continuing "Go then"
Kenji annoyingly pouted as he walks away.
The student council wasn't really far away, the boy just needs to walk a few steps from where their classroom is to get there, well if excluding the staircases, that is. To sum it up, Mizuki high school has 4 floors. The first one is the school ground, the next one is where the first year student's classes are located - which is currently where Midori and Kenji is right now. The next floor is for the second years, which is where the 'angelic senior' classroom locates. The last one is the third year's and the area on top of it is the rooftop, students usually get fresh air or hang out up there, Kenji doesn't like it though, he dislike high places. He carefully opened the door before walking tiptoe into the student council's room, he heard rumors that this place is very tense and full of pressures, mostly because the students here are all mature-looking, strict and always looking at the computer with fuming faces. Although the rumors are like that, as soon as he walks in, a figure greeted him joyfully while carrying a pile of papers walking pass:
"Oh hello, what brings you here?"
"Ah, hello, I'm here to turn in class 1A paper work." Kenji bowed .
"Ahaha, you don't need to bow like that, no one here will bite you, you know?" The person laughs comically before gesturing their head to a nearby wooden table "You can place the work there."
"Thank you!" Kenji almost bowed by impulse, he quickly stand straight back up thus walking to the instructed table and place the papers on there.
He roams his eyes around before proceed to leave the room, it's a big room, one where will remind you of a large office room from a growing company, it has chairs, well, side chairs, of course with some potted plants serving as decorations. The working space for each members are next to each other though are spaced apart a bit by a wall placing between tables. There's also a separated room to host meeting, probably would contain a long-edged table and a massive white board in there, man, what a life to be apart of the students council huh...well, not like it's a good thing.
The door suddenly turned open before Kenji could walk out of the room. There on the door frame stood a person, surrounding with a dignity and pressuring aura, he looks kinda similar to Kenji...did they met before? All the students who are currently in the room out of the blue starts to stand up, they bowed whilst greeting:
"Good morning, president!"
"Good morning," the person blandly said, hence, he got into a table which seems to be the most biggest and started working.
Kenji incredulously grab the door knob and cautiously leave the room.
'What was that...?'
