When school ended I went home. “Hey, mom, I need you to sign something.” She wasn’t around as always, so I signed the permission slip for theater class myself. I had become surprisingly good at forging my mothers signature. My sister on the other hand was great at forging my moms and dads signature that how she got out of dressing out for gym class.

I’m so glad my sister didn’t get brainwashed by my parents. I mean I guess they gave up after me.Third ring of hell party of one. That's where I’m going, I’m taking the elevator. Straight down no stops to other floors, when my mom and dad got home it was funny because I was watching tv and waiting for something to finish boiling.

“I mean what are they going to do, kick me out I don’t think so” I asked as she got a text alert. “Hey um Axle dad just text me that you're kicked out. You can come to get your stuff tomorrow.” I laughed “Maybe, I shouldn’t open my mouth… Also, it's fine I don’t need any of that.” I tell her as we pull into the parking lot.
We walked in, “I’m paying and there is no argument that you can come up with that will change that.” The hostess showed us to the table. “I picked up three extra shifts in order to do something sweet for everyone in that household. But fuck it I’m not a part of it anymore.”

The bus drops me off at the stop sign. So I can just walk through this crummy neighborhood. To the left, you can see a drunk guy passed out on his lawn. Trash cans pouring into the road. No one here has a good car, they're all rusty and old. Of course, the front door is locked, guess I’ll use the window again. No one here cares if you look suspicious. I mean right next door is a trap house.

I walk into the living room where my dad is passed out and I have to clean up the mess. First I turn off the tv then clean up all 26 beer bottles on the floor. After that, I get the mail which is just ads. Finally, I pick up all of his clothes and walk to the laundromat which will take an hour.

When I get there I put the clothes in and call Violet. “Hey, Violet just got to the laundromat want to come to hang out.” I asked, “Yeah sure, just give me a minute.” She replies “About fifteen minutes and I’ll be there, I’m getting in my car now, love” I smiled to myself. She was so sweet and adorable, I don’t know why but every time she called me love my heart skipped a beat, even though she called everyone that.

True to her word fifteen minutes later she was walking in the door of the laundromat. “Why don’t you just come over to my house to wash clothes. You’re always welcome.” She says with a smile.

I watched as she spoke, she was playing with the ring on her finger like she was nervous or had something she really wanted to say. She always did something like that whether it was picking at her nails till they bled or chewing on her lips.
“Are you okay?” I asked her as the washer dinged to let me know that it was done. “Yes,” She said, realizing that she was doing something.

I got home and my father was passed out on the couch again. I walked directly past him and into my room. I sat on my bed for a little while, practically contemplating my life choices and whether or not I should end everything. I decided not to sense Elijah would be sad.

I took a deep breath and pulled a box out from under my bed. It was filled with pictures of my mother and father when they were younger. My father was who I got my black hair from, I had my mothers blue eyes that were almost grey.

I smiled looking at the pictures. They were so happy, they still looked happy when I was a baby. As I got older in the pictures though it seemed my father was getting farther away and looked more disheveled in each photo.
Around my thirteenth birthday is when things went to hell. He started to hit me for the littlest of things. I would tell my mother something and apparently I would say it with an attitude so I would get smacked in the face. And here I am seventeen god forsaken years old.

He was drunk most of the time now. So we didn’t really talk anymore, but a lot of other things happened. Something he called father/daughter bonding time.
