D stops and looks in the direction of the voice. There was a man with a black pointy mustache and beard. He was wearing foreign looking clothes, most noticeably the white cloth wrapped around his head that has a gem-like object in the center of it.

The man was sitting at a stand covered in purple cloth with a crystal ball on top of it. D instantly knew that the man was a fortune teller. However, the man was sitting inside a glass case that was attached to the stand.

“Welcome! Please! I will tell you your future... for $10,” he points down in front of his stand. There was a device that takes paper money sticking out from the stand. “No thanks,” D continues to walk back. “Very well then! I shall give you a piece of your future for free...” the fortune teller said reluctantly.

“I rather not,” said D, but the fortune teller starts waving his hands around his crystal ball. “I can only see darkness...” the fortune teller pauses to make it sound more mysterious, “Wait... there is now a small crack of light... something is waiting in the dark blanket... within the dark... is a penguin...” The man seems to be finished. That was the worse prophecy I've ever heard! Thought D with unsatisfied face.

The fortune teller speaks out loud again, “If you do not wish this future to occur... please... sit down in front of me and I will give you advice on how to change your future.” There were two cushioned chairs in front of the stand.

Now that I think about it, I haven't heard the heart beat monitor reacting while I was near the fortune teller... D checks the heart beat monitor, it still works, yet has no reaction towards the man. Upon realization, D attempts to sprint away but something grabs his waists and lifts him up into the air.

D looks up to see a marionette similar to the one a few nights ago. With prior knowledge in hand, D grabs his knife from his fanny pack and slash the wires. D and the marionette fell down, thankfully D manages to escape with no problem as he only fell from a few feet.
D enters a stance with his arms shaped like an upside down V in front of his upper body with his knife.

Six muscular looking dolls came out from underneath’s the fortune teller’s stand. It seemed that the dolls were all able to fit under the stand by assuming uncomfortable positions that people can’t do for hours without feeling sore.

Crap… I can’t fight them all at once… D starts to run away again without interruption this time. All six dolls wedged their fingers under the stand and lifts it up, then with the stand and fortune teller on their shoulders, they give chase to D.

D looks back to see that the stand was actually a metallic box with the door hanging down. D puts away his knife; takes out his crossbow aimed at one of the doll’s chest where he believed the power source would be.

D’s crossbow could shoot a maximum of eight arrows in rapid succession before he needs to reload it. Eight arrows at 114 m/s was fired and went through a doll’s chest multiple times. D didn’t hesitate to unload all eight arrows at once this time.

The arrows stops halfway in the doll and the doll didn’t flinch. D reloads with haste and shoots eight more arrows at the head of the same doll. The only thing D managed to succeed was making the muscular doll look ridiculous with sixteen arrows in his body.

With the dolls catching up to D, D decided to shoot at their legs. One of the arrows pierced a doll’s foot as he lifted it up. As soon as he puts that foot down, he fell forward from the imbalance of the arrow in his foot.

The two dolls behind him tripped over him; without support from the other side of the stand, it fell to its side. The three other dolls stopped where they were to try to pick up the stand again. By the time they regrouped, D was out of sight.

D found himself at the same location where he and the fortune teller were originally. D takes the time to catch his breath. So the power source was either the fortune teller or his stand or perhaps a combination of both? Also, the dolls’ power source seems to only have a limited range before the dolls can’t function from being too far from it. Why else would the dolls carried it with them when they could have an easier time chasing me without it?

D looks down at the marionette and the two chairs left behind. D decided to see what would happen had he sat in one of the chairs. D picked up the marionette and tosses it onto a chair. The chair immediately reacted when there was added weight on it. Metal straps came out of the cushions around the marionette, preventing movements had it been an actual person...
