"Thank you John without you in the world, the world would sorely be at a loss" John laughs,"you my dear are far to kind" I smile take the tea walk over to Raphael. I notice a look of worry and feel the need to comfort him and I have no idea where that feeling comes from of course I'm a caring person it's just I don't know I decide to make it subtle and lay my hand on his shoulder while putting his cup down. I feel an enormous sense of worry. Poor thing he must have a lot in his mind. "Thank you Carmen that was so kind of you" "I'm returning the favor besides you look like you need it"

She comes with my tea the way she puts her hand on my shoulder I know she senses my worry damn it I need to keep my worry to myself so I decide to smile. She puts my cup down and I thank her. I can't help but think if she only knew what her body and mind were going through. She well eventually show more and more symptoms of the poison within her. "Raphael if you don't mind me saying you don't look well" "I don't? I'm sorry I guess I'm not good company at the moment" 

I notice her standing up. I look up at her, "Raphael I am so sorry but I have to go home finish this lecture lest the people paying to listen well lynch me" She gathers her things and I stand up I take her hand in mine and kiss the back of her hand. "It has been a true pleasure I only regret not being better company" I see her smile, "Raphael life is to short for regrets besides I thoroughly enjoyed your company another time perhaps when I'm not up to my eyeballs in work and you're not preoccupied". She winked and proceeded to walk out the door. I watched her leave and then turned to face Michael. Michael has a grim look on his face while he's folding up his paper I start to approach him.

Raphael is coming towards me we need to talk I can tell he's worried. He stops in front of me,"May I sit down?" "Of course please do". As he sits down I see a huge look of worry and concern to be honest I have never seen Raphael this troubled. "I can tell Raphael your extremely troubled I assume what you found out isn't good?" "That Michael is saying the very least, it's not only bad but makes no damn sense." Raphael was not one prone to exaggeration so if he says it's bad then it's bad. "So what did you find out?"

Michael asked me what I had found out and I can honestly say I know what I found out but in truth it makes no sense. How do I explain this unknown to Michael without seeming like a raving madman. "Raphael, come on, what it is it you found out?" "Of course, I'm sorry Michael" I lean back into the back of my chair and cross my arms across my chest. "We both can conclude she's Nephilim which leads us to wonder why haven't we seen her before right?" Michael has his that's obvious look and I keep going,"There's a reason. 

That very reason is called angel magic within her body it's wrapped around her mind it is keeping everything that is Nephilim about her obscured. It somehow has caused her to forget what she is and difficult if not damn near impossible for other Nephilim to see what she is. Somehow something has given considering we both noticed." I see that Michael's muscles tighten and his left eyebrow arches ever so slightly as if he's trying to put two and two together. "Did you just say angel magic and we know she's Nephilim by all accounts she should be dead shouldn't she?" "Yes by all accounts she should be, and that's what's so confusing" "It's as if the Nephilim inside of her is protecting her I've never seen anything like it could also be we why we could see what she is.

 Her innate abilities are what are keeping her alive. Considering angels are pure, created by god and we are created from sin there's nothing that I know of that can explain this" Michael's face has a look of utter surprise on it. It's very rare to see Michael visibly caught off guard. "She's like us yet she's not" I look Michael in the eyes and I could swear he mouthed wingless one I couldn't be sure so I decide to keep going "There's one more thing Michael her magic is keeping the effects of the angel magic at bay but it won't last for long" I lean forward and say."It's not a question of if she'll die but when" I notice when I had said that Michael's fist clench. I get the feeling he knows something but isn't telling me. 

Raphael told me that she was slowly dieing. I get the feeling I know who's behind this but at this point aIl I have is my intuition to go on so I can't be sure. I look at Raphael,"Do you know how long she has?" "It's difficult to say a month perhaps maybe less maybe more"

 "I need to go to my library. Raphael I know you have a link with her I'm assuming you can keep it an unlimited amount of time?" "Yes, of course" "Then I want you to keep an eye on her. I get the feeling she'll need to be kept safe. I am asking you to do this only because if this is what I think it is I'll need all my magical strength and physical strength as well. I can't afford to spread myself thin. "You know I well Michael. Do you know who did this?" " I have a hunch nothing concrete" I stand up and put on my jacket to get ready to leave. "Raphael one more thing meet me at headquarters tomorrow" "I well, see you then" I head out and say goodbye to John. 

I watch Michael leave I've never seen him this excited, worried, and scared at the same time. I have to admit it's disconcerting to see him this way. He is our clans rock and support not something he asked to be but something he became through his incredible leadership. Our clan's needs have always been a priority to him. 

So simply put everyone of us is linked to each other including him not because we are busy spying on each other but it is because if anyone of us needs help someone is there. We can turn it off sort of speak when need be but I find it a comfort that someone well always have my back. I'm sure you can understand now why Michael's emotions are causing a slight stir among the clan though the stir is more wonderment then concern. I decide to reach out to Carmen it is an easy process it just involves closing my eyes and letting my mind sift through all the voices ahhh there she is. 

I can't help but smile so much for getting her lecture done she's decided to play the piano instead. Wow this is a beautiful piece of music. Her music is having a calming effect on me. I can't help but smile at her feelings and descriptions of me and Michael. For her I left a strong impression that for some reason moves me it reminds me of well that's a story for another day. She seems relaxed and fine so I'll head home. I finish off my tea the effects of getting close to the angel magic within her wearing off. 

I got home and decided to relax by playing the piano a bit it's been quite an interesting day to say the very least. I met Mr. Sinclair and Raphael two very unique men. Mr. Sinclair seems very suave, together, not to mention very handsome. However what grips hold of me the most is his intelligence. His knowledge on things is dare I say at risk of sounding completely loony, other worldly. That's about the only way to describe it. He should be the one giving this lecture not me. I stop playing take a deep breath and chuckle then of course there's Raphael. He is one those people who enters your life and the meeting is so fleeting it feels as if it is over long before it began but he leaves such a strong impression you simply can't forget him. 

I must admit I'm drawn to both which for me is odd because I've always said my work as an angelologist comes first but yet here I am gushing over two completely different men. It's getting late already 6:00pm and just need to write my conclusion to this lecture and I'm done I just need to focus which I discover is becoming quite the task. I stand up and walk to my window and look out the sun is setting beautiful reds and gold in the sky. 

I decided to walk home to clear my mind it is an odd sensation feeling overwhelmed. It's frustrating only having hunches to go on but if I'm correct Gabriel is much crueler then I ever thought possible. I end up at our clan headquarters instead of home and walk inside. I need to start doing some research. I open the door and the elegance of the lobby calms me. The high ceilings and crystal chandeliers other then home this is one of two places where I feel truly relaxed. I stop in front of the oak double doors to my office. I notice the ripple of the clan talking about that there could be something wrong I didn't realize my emotions were so noticeable I should've known better. All I can do now is reassure them things are fine for the time being otherwise I won't be able to concentrate.

Look everyone things are fine. I just need everyone to relax and go about your day. For right now I need to turn off a bit as it were if you need anything please go to Raphael I need to focus on what I'm doing. I know it's easier said then done but do not worry I well reveal everything when the time comes. All I ask is that you trust me 

I sever my connection for a bit and it is an odd feeling the silence inside my mind. Hearing my own thoughts for a change. I sigh as I open the doors to my office and walk inside. I for some reason find my office a comforting place. The smell of leather and Mahogany wood fills my nostrils. 

I stretch out my wings ahh there's no better feeling. I in all honesty hate hiding who I am. I am proud of what i am what we are. if it were not for us mortals would know nothing of the arts or their own free will. I wish we could just walk among mortals as we are. Yet we are forced into hiding as punishment. I don't have time to be bitter I have work to do.
