Victor stood facing a large group of people, eyes narrowed. Behind him, was the map, and he hadn't bothered to remove his dagger from the place where Alaela sat.733Please respect copyright.PENANAeaA4U6jtN4

Sitting lazily beside him, was a witch. She had pitch black hair, bangs, and harsh pink eyes. She wore an elegant outfit consisting of a black hood, a black, tight top, lighter tights, heels, and a black skirt showing her legs and covering the back outlined with a pale yellow color, and black, lace sleeves covered her arms an then frilled out at the wrists. She was flipping through a book with a light brown cover, looking rather bored- but also focused at the same time.
Men, women, and others stood before him, backs straight, eyes hard, unsmiling. Victor swept around them, looking satisfied. But he didn't smile. He walked back up to the front, eyes narrowed, and then spoke clearly and leader like.
"Alaela is home to many, filthy non-humans. You have all been selected to go there- and destroy it." He scanned their faces. They stared back up at him without really seeing, just trying to look tough and worthy. "Kill everyone there. If anyone tries to stop you, you kill them too. If someone catches you.." His eyes flashed suddenly, scanning their faces, "Tell them nothing. And kill yourself."
"Yes, sir!" said them all in unison, without any hesitation. They we're willing to die for this cause.
"We've spent years planning this." His eyes narrowed. "Don't mess it up..Or there will be consequences. Zaina, you may take it from here." 733Please respect copyright.PENANAvHq9txStEK

The witch looked up, nodded and stood as Victor swept his way out of the room, the door slamming shut. Zaina flinched at the loud noise, sighed, then turned to the group.
"Alright. When I call your name, you come up and collect your weapon." She sighed heavily, remembering how late she stood up with a bunch of others- creating weapons- perfecting them with her spells.733Please respect copyright.PENANAMxfHaXqwac

Once they prepared to go, she rushed to Victor, who was sitting in an office room, probably doing something important.
He looked up. raising his eyebrows. "What is it, Zaina?"
She straightened up. "I found out how to get the demons," she said.
His eyes went sharp, and his body tensed, suddenly very attentive. "Well?"
"Its a whole ritual," Zaina continued. "It will take a month to get all of the ingredients. And by then most demons will obey you but..Some of the larger ones will take longer. Maybe even a few months."
Victor's lips stretched into a smile. "Excellent. Send some others to help you get the ingredients."
"Some of them are really hard to get, sir," Zaina told him. "For example, one of them is the blood of the betrayed."
Victor looked at her. "No matter. Just send someone to start getting the ingredients. Now." He waved her off and she hesitantly turned and walked out to accompany the group, making sure nothing went off the rails, before sending a letter to another witch she was very close to.

Alaela really was a mesmerizing place. Marvelous, bright green hills surrounded the place, decorated in striking flowers of all sorts of colors; Crimson, white, orange, colbat and violet. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAI2vlaZ04oh

In the day kids were usually seen running around playing pretend, the adults and elderly telling exciting tales of their youth to the younger kids.
At the moment, it was nighttime- and young Valerie slashed at the air in front of her, training hard. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAb8p1b0JsL5

She'd snuck out of her room to train some more past bedtime. She gave one more slash at the air, as if an invisible attacker was there.
After another thirty minutes of this, she suddenly fell onto a bed of flowers, her swords slipping out from her grasp and landing softly at her sides. Sweat ran down her face and she panted, looking up at the night sky. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAci1BKEjdR5

Millions upon millions of tiny little stars winked down at her. The grass tickled her arms and she let herself relax, taking a deep breath, and slowly closed her eyes.
A soft breeze blew, cooling Valerie more than a breeze should. 733Please respect copyright.PENANA5DSnIXqP7z

Valerie slowly sat up, looking around. Something inside her was telling her this wasn't right.
She heard footsteps. She turned her head and looked up at the top of the hills, where a group of people were coming, storming over the mountain hills. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAqJwXvp4UoG

She scrambled up- staring, tranfixed. All of them rushed down the mountain, scowls on their faces, looking none too friendly. They stormed down, a mass of black with the red trim on their clothes glowing brightly, their weapons clenched tight in their fists and raises threateningly.
Valerie's stomach plummeted to her toes and she scrambled to her feet, seizing her swords before taking off to the village to warn her people.733Please respect copyright.PENANAfzSbFqZdyc

Valerie was unable to get to her parents out, but she saw from a distance that their door was open. They must've gone already.

In just a mere amount of seconds the attackers were tackling down people who tried to escape, and they barely made a few steps before they were slammed down and blood pooled beneath them as the light left their eyes. Others, were kicking down doors and storming into their houses, shouting as they went.
Valerie's head snapped to the left when a scream came from the house next door. She could see the silhouette of a woman trying to protect herself, and a bigger figure slicing at her. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAuZwrQQBDlh

The fire left her unscathed, but as the man jerked his wrist, her hand cut. She flinched, then looked back around as she heard a cry.
The boy had staggered to his feet, and barely took a step when a girl's throwing star hit the back of his head, sending a spray of blood up into the air. He dropped to the floor, and the girl took her throwing star out, turning to someone else.
"Ene!" Valerie called out, distracted. The man had suddenly seized her arm and gotten up. She turned back around, and touched her hand to his face- She was burning him, her eyes flashing a bright orange. The man yelled and let her go, hands flying to his face. She kicked him back then stabbed his leg- just so that he couldn't run anymore. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAwProk2nyTT

This night- unlike many others- were peaceful and calm, and happened rarely.
Often, clints nights would be disrupted by disturbing dreams, which made it very difficult to fall back asleep. But tonight, it was peaceful, his mind at ease.
Talyn burst in, light flooding into the dark room. She staggered inside, shouting Clint's name, the laces to the boots undone, and her hair sticking every which way. "Get up!" She hissed at him. Clint raised his head, looking confused. He saw her worried face and his stomach twisted slightly.
He sat up again. "What? What happened?" He asked, kicking out of his covers and standing.
"Someone- Someone's attacked-" She told him quickly, "Alaela- And they need help- We have to go now." She turned and hopped out , trying to tie her shoelaces.
Clint looked at the clock beside his bed. Midnight. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAIAzjmjGkyK

None of them knew too much about Alaea, just that it was reserved and often didn't interact with anyone else. So if they were asking for help- It must be pretty bad.
He went out the door, and everyone soon joined him, all in clothes, their own weapons in their hands. Clint had grabbed his sword and it now rested in a sheath on his back. The familiar weight of the sword somehow calmed him. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAlgW0xOuDTh

Melanie and Diana were now in front of them, each in their pajamas and looking stressed, makeup smudged, hair messily tied back.
"We can't really make up a plan," Diana said quickly. "Look- You've been training for this for your most of your life. Go in, and save them. Help them, please. Call us when you're on your way back- And please," She and Melanie exchanged a worried look, then Diana faced them again, "be careful. Now go." She waved them off, chewing on her lip nervously.
--
Within ten minutes, with speeding through the empty streets of the Island, they got to the top of the hills of Alaela.
They saw the scene. A few houses were on fire, and smoke rose up into the air- People were shouting, screaming and crying, and people in black suits were killing those people left and right.
"Oh, my," Talyn gasped, her eyes widening in horror. Clint paused for a moment, eyes scanning down at the village below, all the noise pounding in his ears. His heart twisted. He'd never seen anything like this..This looked like the scene out of a movie. But it wasn't. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAktqlhgPTxF

She ripped it out and turned to Talyn looking furious, but Talyn was already hauling ass to a different section of the village, her brown jacket flapping out behind her.
Clint and Will ran down as well, after a moments hesitation, Will pulling out his short curved blades and Clint pulling out his sword at the same time. Will paused, and Clint turned to him.
Will gave him a quick, nervous grin and said, "Don't die, okay?"
"I'll try not to," Clint replied. He gave a single, awkward thumbs up with his free hand, then ran to the right, plunging into the chaos.
By now, more of the houses had caught on fire, and all the smoke burned into his eyes and nose. He quickly drew up his shirt over his nose, and blinked away the tears his eyes made to try and keep all the bad stuff out. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAaoNcwnbBJ6

He squinted up ahead as he ran. Seeing black figures were swinging their weapons around, and blood was spattering the ground all over.
Clint felt himself nearly slip in a puddle of blood, and caught himself before he landed on a man, with a wicked looking axe buried deep into his skull.
Clint looked up and took a few steps back- a girl with blonde hair pulled into a messy and loose ponytail was running towards him, dressed in the black suit. She gripped the handle of the axe and ripped it out of the mans head with a sickening squelching noise. She skidded to a halt.
"What are you doing?" Clint shouted over the roar of noise, dropping his shirt from covering his nose and gripping the handle of his sword with both hands now. "Why are you hurting these people?"
The girl stared at him, blood dripping from her axe. "We're going to make the world pure, " She told him. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAEnRLXLpitg

Clint didn't have time to reply, or even think about what the hell that meant because she swung the axe at him. He jumped out of the way, then she said, "Get out of the way, now. Or I'll have to kill you."
"You can try," Clint snapped. The girl's piercing eyes narrowed, and she swung her axe at him again. He dodged once again, then jabbed at her legs with the point of his sword. The girl jerked back, and he cut her suit, then threw herself upon him. He fell down hard, gasping, and dropped his sword. The girl kicked it away, sending it spinning. 733Please respect copyright.PENANA1GGbcyPeH1

The girl sat upon him, raised her arms behind her head clutching the axe, and brought it down. Clint grabbed the sides of the axe, and tried to keep it from piercing his chest, his hands getting cut and a small trickle of warm blood falling down his wrists.
The girl was staring down at him, her eyes blazing. "Why are you helping these creatures?" She hissed at him. "Why are you risking your life?"
Clint didn't answer. He grit his teeth, kicking weakly. Why was he here? He could've easily stayed home. Why not? 733Please respect copyright.PENANA69nx1aDgeo

His arms were shaking- He heard a child's scream, and his blood seemed to freeze in his veins. Clint turned back to the axe. Also stained with blood of the innocent. 733Please respect copyright.PENANA9f1MJNG8S5

He gasped, trying to breathe but she tightened her grip, fingers digging in, cutting off any air. She loomed over him, her hair hanging down in front of her face- which was a mixture of victory and evil.
Clint struggled weakly, trying to push her away, tugging at her hair- but she didn't let up. She brought her foot up snd pinned his one arm with her heel. 733Please respect copyright.PENANANHpAlG1gTh

Black dots were forming in his vision, and his chest seemed to burn, aching for air- just a little bit of air..
A small figure tackled off the girl suddenly- and her hands slipped off, rolling on the street with the small figure- her green hair flying: Talyn.
Clint gasped, sucking in air, a hand on his throat- where it ached and felt sore and tender. He breathed heavily, trying to get up as Talyn's bow was kicked away from her by the girl.
The two engaged in battle, the girl swinging expertly, kicking Talyn's ribs. She gave a little gasp, staggering- then composed herself and seized the girls side of her head, gripping tightly to her hair. Her eyes were pits- as dangerous-looking as waves crashing relentlessly against rocks, breaking away some piece of it.
She seized the other side of the girls head, gripping tightly- and with one motion, brought down the girls face as she raised her knee, slamming the girl's face on it- hard.
The girl cried out and Talyn released her, blood sporting from her nose and spilling down her mouth and chin. Talyn then grabbed a nearby knife that had fallen on the floor, and went to stab the girl's chest. But right as she brought the blade down, there was a loud snap and the girl vanished into thin air. 733Please respect copyright.PENANA2YqWEXFMpD

The only trace they were ever there was shadowy wisps of black flecks and tiny drops of blood; Talyn cut rhough the cloud of flecks unable to stop herself, her knife slamming on the ground as she stumbled and fell onto her knees.
Talyn looked as shocked as Clint felt. Talyn then rushed over then, pulling Clint up. "Are you okay?" She asked, looking concerned now. "Maybe you should-"
"I'm fine, Talyn," Clint said sharply. "I can still fight. But what the hell was that?"
Talyn shrugged, running a hand through her hair. "I don't know! That was crazy!"
"Nevermind.." said Clint. He pushed the thought aside. "Let's just keep going. We can question later."
Talyn nodded. Then she turned on her heel, scooped up her bow and ran off, plunging into battle again. Clint picked up his sword, turning in a slow circle.

He held a large sword in his hand, and was slashing at her, glaring furiously and cursing when she was able to dodge. She sprang to the side as the sword came down.
She rushed forwrd, kicking his ribs, stabbing his hip, and saw for a moment the sweat shining on his large face- cheeks flushed red, lips chapped and bleeding; The fire was getting closer.
Valerie hadn't felt it. She turned, and saw the raging flames on a nearby house. When she turned back, she gave a little gasp and jumped back-The man had swung his sword; She felt the sting of the shallow cut just above her chest.
"Come on, you little worm," panted the guy. "Just give up. You won't win this. You're all weak."
His words pounded in her brain. She barely understood what he had said- but she understood enough to know that he had called her and her people weak.
And oh man that was a huge mistake.
She looked to the fire, jumping back as the guy swung again. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAOdlgIjHc1z
733Please respect copyright.PENANAWiyW8N4nVj
She lifted her sword, poitning it to the fire- Then she aimed it at the guy then, and a line of fire came from the house, and shot straight to the guy, twisting.
The guy gave a loud cry, dropping his sword as the fire swirled around him, burning exposed areas of skin; his hands, his face.
Valerie's narrowed eyes were glowing orange, as bright as the fire raging around the guy, who covered his face with his arms. She rushed forward, going to knock him out while he was distracted- But then he vanished. And it was just her and swirling fire, and dark, black specks that resembled feathers. The glowing and anger faded, replaced by confusion.
Valerie looked around, and through the flames, saw a wavy image of a woman. She was hiding behind a house, in a black hood and dress with a golden trim, her hand out- stretched to where the guy whad stood. Valerie squinted, looking confused, and saw the black specks coming from her palm, her fingertips pitchblack.
The woman then lowered her hand, and her eyes met Valerie's. Valerie stared back at her, looking at her. The woman turned away suddenly, walking quickly and Valerie turned too, sending the fire at someone else.
And just as the fire reached them, and Valerie went to knock hem out, they vanished. Valerie was frustrated, she growled, "Curse you," and she turned, seeing many people collapse to the ground, dead.
Innocent people.
Her people.
She wanted to scream, she was confused, scared- angry. Why were they here? What had they done to deserve this? What did they want? Where was her family? Had they survived to this point?
She hated them, she hated them so much- They were destroying everything she ever knew. For what reason?
Those thoughts pounded in her head as she battled, slashing, blocking, twisting, defending. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAYxJm7LqUc5

It was what kept her going.
--
The wind blew harshly in Clint's ears, drowning out the cries of battle- He had just slammed a man into a wall, and asClint went to finish the job, he vanished again, just as the girl had done.
He growled, and turned sharply- and he saw a little girl battling a tall woman with brown hair tried into a tight braid, weilding a thin spear. The girl barely came up to her elbow, but she was fighting very well, blocking and slashing, barely getting a scratch from the spear. Clint was rushing over and his chest tightened when the woman kicked her down, kicked her swords out from her hands- and grabbed her shoulders. Clint's eyes widened and his stomach plummeted as the woman pulled her up harshly, and threw her into a nearby fire.
She let out a cry of surprise, and she landed hard on the street- Clint called out and met the woman, slashing at her. She jumed back and grinned evily, blocking with her spear and slamming her foot into his gut. He coughed and staggered back, earning a slash to his cheek. He straightened up, stabbing at her shoulder- and the two went at it, slashing at eachothers throats, cutting one another whenever a chance was open-
Clint's head snapped back when he ehard a voice to hsi right. The voice sounded as if it belomged to small girl, ans she shouted, "Svitabrdu ene!"
The same girl was there, standing beside the flames in which she was tossed in. Her eyes were glowing a broght orange, orange glowing resembling licks of fire going up past her elbows, her hands glowing as bright as her eyes- And, boy, did she look pissed.
She shouted at Clint again, making a gesture telling him to move. The woman was staring in astonishment, jaw slack, eyes bulging and as big as saucers.
Cint sprung back as Valerie brought her arm up- then swung it down in a sweeping arc motion- All the fire behind her suddenly swarmed into a giant line- looking snake like. The girl screamedas the fire flew towards her- it burhsed right by her, scorching her skin as she shrieked- and then she vanished. The fire was weaving all around the village at the girls command, heading to the attackers- but they vanished before it could touch them.
In three minutes, everyone had vanished and the fire spun up into the air, blazing brightly then dove into the ground, vanished- leaving only a scorch mark on the ground- and shadowy, black specks floating around.
And only one person who lived in the village was alive; the girl.
She stood there, breathing heavily as the glow faded. Clint wa staring at her, thunder-struck. Iris, Talyn and Will were slowly making their way over, ash and dirt on their faces, clothes ripped, also looking absolutely astounded.
The girl stared at them, and Clint saw the tears that ran down her dirt-covered face. He walked over to her and she took a step back, eyes wide and untrusting.
He stopped. "We're the good guys," he said. "We were trying to help."
She looked at him, her eyes flitting to the other three who came up behind him. She faced Clint again. "'Good..?'" She repeated, with a strong accent.
Clint nodded. "Yeah. Good." He held his hand out to her. "What you did was amazing. You probably saved all our lives."
She looked at him, then hesitantly took his hand. She clung tight to him as they all made their way up the hills in silence, a mix of blood and smoke burning their noses, tears stinging their eyes.
---
They got to the house- Will and Talyn walked through first and immediately, Meanie and Diana sprang up from the couch, kncking iver a mug of coffee, and hugged them both.
Talyn hugged back and started crying, and Wills shoulders were shaking- Iris, meanwhile, and Clint were trying hard to save their emotions for when they were left alone.
Valerie stood there, her hand on Clint's sleeve, looking around cautiously, her swords in sheaths on her back.
Melanie looked at Valerie, head tilted, then looked back up at Clint. "Is that all..?" She asked slowly, frowning deeply.
Something twisted in his stomach, and he felt his throat tighten. "Yeah.." He said, and his voice broke. He cleared in quickly and nodded, looking away sadly. "We couldn't save anymore."
"Its okay," Diana told them. "You did the best you could. Now- we'll talk tonight. But first- shower, change, assess your injuries- Melanie will take care of those." She turned to Valerie, and said softly, "Shes gonna help your cuts and stuff, okay?"
Valerie's eyes flicked up to Melanie, who smiled softly, and then she nodded, but she didn't release Clint's sleeve. Clint led her over to the living room while Melanie got the first aid kit- and sat down. Valerie let go of his sleev and Melanie grabbed a wet cloth, and pressed it gently to Valerie's cut on her arm. Valerie made a small noice and jerked back immediately, eyes wide. Melanie looked confused and concerned.
Valerie spoke quietly, in her broken english, heavy with her accent, "No- No water.." She held her arm up to Melanie and where the cloth had touched her, athe skin turned red, and the cut bled a little more.
"Alright.." Melanie set the cloth aside and cleaned her cuts with a dry rag, then wrapped them up tightly, trying to be gentle. Then she turned to Talyn, cleaning off her scraped cheek and knees.
Will didn't have many injuries, so he helped Clint out- Clint watched in silence as Will cleaned the slices on his hands. He looked carefully at the dirt on his face, his hair sticking out every which way and covered in ash. Will moved to assess the bruises on Clint's neck, cleaning the dirt off carefully. Clint looked away slightly, from his deep, gorgeous brown eyes- his chapped lips that had once been so soft- well- they looked soft.
Will wiped away the dry blood from his cheek now, gently placing a bandais over the slice. His hands lingered for a moment, then Will drew back. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAu4lLrn7V8l

Clint frowned a little, snd turned away.
--
Soon enough, they had all cleaned up and Talyn lent her pajamas to Valerie, since Talyn was the smallest.
Valerie was following Clint up the stairs, to the guest room. He pushed open the door quietly, revealing a dimly lit room with a large bed made up of white and tan covers- the ealls were a deep grey, decorated with little cursive signs reading, "Peace" and such on it.
Valerie walked in slowly, her bare feet sliding along the soft carpet and she hopped into bed, wiggling under the covers. Clint walked over quietly. "Anything you want? Is it too cold? Do you want more light?" He looked concerned, frowning deeply.
"No," Valerie replied. "Its okay."
He nodded, turning to walk out- just before he was about to close the door she added, "Thank you!"
Clint turned back to her and smiled softly. "Its my job."
He closed the door gently, walking down.
Valerie turned onto her side, then whispered, seeimingly to her bracelet on her wrist, "Raz."
Suddenly, about the size of a golden retriever, a dragon with a narrow , dark head, a black beak, small, beaded eyes. Past the head the body resembled a wyvern, but was sleek with pale gold feathers.
Valerie smiled at Raz a tiny bit, still speaking her own language, she said, "Sorry. But I didn't want to let you out. You would have gotten hurt."
Raz chirped lightly and spread her wings slightly, crawling to curl up right beside Valerie. She pulled up the covers, and Raz poked her head out, then closed her eyes. Valerie relaxed her aching body, closing her own eyes, and then she drifted to sleep- feeling not as safe before those people attacked Alaela.
---
Everyone slept all day, too exhausted from the night before to get up- They only got up, half asleep, to go pee, and then they vanished back into their room to sleep.
The next next day, everyone got up- fully rested and energized. Will had managed to make some breakfast, and Valerie was still sticking close to Clint, frowning slightly as she ate some strawberries.
They were discussing the mission, and Valerie had zoned out completely as the other four recited what happened that day.
"And they all just..disappeared," Talyn finished. "Vanished. Into thin air. Before the fire touched them."
Melanie raised her eyebrows, she snapped her fingers. "Just like that? Thats odd.."
Diana turned towards Valerie, arms crossed, head tilted to the side. "Did you see anything unusual? Anything these guys didn't mention?"
Valerie looked at her for a moment, then back down at her lap, shaking her head. "They just..apepared. I was laying in the grass and they just started running down the hills and killed.." She felt all eyes on her, and her face flushed slightly as she clenched her fists in her lap. "I don't know why."
Clint looked up. "One of the girls I fought, she said she was making the place 'pure.'" He scoffed, leaning back in his chair with his arm folded. "Whatever that means."
Diana and Melanie shared a look, snd the entire table went silent, staring at the two suspiciously. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAwh7aPfQjkL

Melanie gave a small shake of her head and picked at the tablecloth, dropping her gaze.
"What?" Talyn asked suddenly, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing," said Diana calmly. She stood up.
"No, tell us," Talyn persisted.733Please respect copyright.PENANAhGBEcJ4DQR

"Talyn," Iris warned quietly.
Everyone stared at Diana, who remained calm looking, eyebrows raised slightly. Melanie kept on picking at the tablecloth.
"It's nothing," Diana responded. "Drop it." Her tone was full of finality. And Talyn, though looking annoyed, went quiet.
Melanie looked up. "Talyn, Iris, go get some new clothes for the camp, please. Will and Clint, take Valerie to the camp, okay?"
Clint nodded, looking over at Valerie. She said nothing, but stood up as Melanie and Diana collected the plates.
"Come on," Will said, trying to sound bright. "Carina will be happy someone will be there- She won't be so lonely."
"Carina?" Valerie looked at him, tilting her head.
"She's a mermaid," Will told her. "She lives at the camp. "
"Camp?"
Will nodded. "Camp. That camp is gonna be your new home." He smiled, and Valerie looked away.
Clint smiled a tiny bit at Will, but when he looked over he quickly turned away, opening the door. A chilly breeze caught him by surprise. He quickly took off his coat and knelt beside Valerie.
She watched him as he wrapped it around her, zipping it up, cuffing the sleeves so they were shorter. He straightened up when he was done and pat her head. Valerie mumbled a thanks and he nodded.
"Did you have siblings?" Will asked him. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAtkU39Ddujj

Clint and Valerie followed after him, Valerie holding onto Clints arm as they walked in the chilly air.

They walked to the forest, taking them thirty minutes.
Valerie gazed around the forest, feeling a small sense of security. The birds chirped in their branches, and squirrels darted across her shoe quickly, storing nuts for the upcoming winter.
Every time a squirrel passed, Clint would point at it, turn to Will and say, "That's you." In response, Will would just roll his eyes, but he couldn't hide the small smile that creeped on his face.
Valerie still clung tight to Clints hand, and she would almost trip, but he would always make sure she didn't. He kept her walking, pointing out when to be careful for sticks and rocks.
Soon they approached the camp. Valerie looked over and saw a girl sitting on a log, staring at a bunch of sticks on the ground intently, eyes wide, looking very focused.
Clint cleared his throat. "Uh, Carina?" He said. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAsKFq0a5LFT

The girl jolted suddenly, looking up, surprised. "Oh!" She cried and she got up, nearly tripping over herself. She walked over to a crystal hovering in the corner, the crystal that kept the protections on the camp strong, Diana had told them it was unbreakable.
Carina tapped it once, then an arch-shaped door way opened, and Valerie then noticed the dome. It had turned a pale purple, but once they stepped in the door-way sealed and the dome was invisible once again.
"I was just coming to get you," Carina said. "I wanted to make a fire to make some..some..what's the word...Rhymes with whor-"
"S'mores?" Will raised an eyebrow, cutting her off, glancing at Valerie quickly.
"That's it!" Carina cried, pointing a finger at will. "But I couldn't figure out how." She hadn't noticed Valerie, but Valerie just stared at her, a slightly confused look on her face.
"Well, we brought someone to join you at the camp," Clint said suddenly, and he nudged Valerie up a little.
Carina turned to Valerie, and her face split into a wide grin. "Oh, she's adorable!" She cried loudly. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAOVkybDiy0V

Valerie took a step back, her grip tightening on Clints arm.
"She's had a rough couple of days," Clint said to Carina when she looked puzzled. "She's very shy."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Carina apologized. "I'm just so excited. It gets quite lonely here." When Will and Clint shared a guilty look, she added, "Oh, no! It's okay. I know you're all busy. Anyway- My names Carina. What's yours?"
"Valerie," said Valerie, looking up at Carina. Her eyes twinkled with kindness, and her grip loosened slightly. She felt herself relax a little.
"This is your new home," Clint said. "Carina's gonna take care of you, and we'll come by to visit. Okay?"
Valerie nodded. "Okay."
"And Talyn and Iris are bringing clothes and such," Will said. Valerie nodded again.
"Come on!" said Carina brightly. "Lets set up a tent."
----
It took three hours for Perri to have her baby, and her husband, Arkon was there from the very beginning. He felt wonderful, and proud as he held the baby girl in his arms. She barely cried when she was born, and Arkon knew for sure that she would grow up to be strong. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAa8JT3dGtOD

He cast a look at Perri, her hair a mess and smiled.733Please respect copyright.PENANA8b4QdZcta9

Just like her mother, his daughter would be just as strong.
He carefully handed the baby to Perri, and Perri took her- She looked both exhausted and delighted.
Arkon stepped out of the room and returned again, this time with his other two children; Alex, who was two, and Lariba who was four. Both stepped in quietly, staring at their mom, curiousity plain on their faces.
"Come on over, guys," Perri whispered and the two shuffled closer. Alex stood on his toes to see, head tilted to the side. Lariba gave a joyful gasp and smiled.
"Whats her name?" Lariba asked, looking up at Arkon.
"Her name is Nanookia," Arkon told her. "Shes your new sister. You have to protect her, okay?"
Alex nodded, and so did Lariba. Nanook was breathing softly, and Perri carefully passed Nanookia to Lariba. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAf4bmXfdHUa

Lariba held her like Nanookia was the most delicate thing on his earth, like a single gust of wind would blow her to bits. Alex turned, staring at Nanookia, smiling ever so slightly.
Suddenly, a guard walked in. Everyone looked up immediately as he said to Arkon, "Theres a visitor outside, your highness."
Arkon looked a little irritable, and his eyes narrowed. "Can't it wait? I'm with my family right now."
The guard shook his head. "No, sir..It seems its really important." He frowned.
Arkon sighed heavily, then nodded. "Fine. I'll be right down."
The guard nodded, turned on his heel and began walking awaying, footsteps echoing on the floor.
"Do you really have to go?" Perri asked, looking over. She had Nanookia in her arms again, and the girl was holding onto her mothers clothes with her tiny first.
"I'll only be a moment," Arkon said. "I promise." He gave her a smile then walked out the door, shutting it softly. He walked down to the throne room, mind wandering. Who could it be? At the same time, he felt irritable that the stranger had interrupted such an important moment.
He walked into the room, where a man with a broad body stood there, wrapped in a ratty dark cloak.
"You asked to see me?" Arkon said impatiently, raising his eyebrows. "Lets make it quick, I have important things to do."
The man gave a simple nod, smiling underneath his hood. "I'm sure you do.." His voice was smooth, but also rough, and Arkon barely recognized it. Where had he heard it before...? Arkon pushed the thought aside and said, "What is it you want then, stranger?"
The stranger went still. He looked up, and raised his hands to draw the hood back. "I think you know what I want, stranger, " He said, flicking his hood back. "I'm back."
Arkon sucked in a breath as his eyes widened. "Thiral," He breathed, his stomach clenching. He felt every muscle in his body tense. Thiral- The man who once upon a time had taken his kingdom away from him, and had caused Arkon a life-time of suffering.
And Arkon was afraid of him.
"Its been a while hasn't it?" Thiral said cooly, cocking his head to the side. He held himself tall, confident- His eyes were fierce, but also cool- It made Arkon shiver, just a little. Thiral had a large sword slung across his back in a black sheath.
"GUARDS!" Arkon barked suddenly, and he took a couple steps back, eyes fixed on Thiral as a wave of guards rushed past him. Thiral's eyes flashed and his grin widened as he drew the sword, a sword called The Death Blade. The guards rushed sword and he swung it to the side, laughing.
A gust of wing suddenly shot out with the slash- The guard's armour in front came apart to reveal deep gashes across their hearts and they crumple to the ground, the ones behind them being flung into the walls or out the window. Glass shattered on the floor like tears, scattering across the floor.
Thiral flung himself at Arkon and Arkon barely dodged, moving in front of the window. Thiral spun around, a sick grin still playing on his face, the sword gripped in his hand so tightly the knuckles were white. He lunged again and Arkon wasn't quick enough. He fell back onto the sharp shards of glass, felt them poke into his skin.
"Not as fast anymore, huh, old man?" Thiral jeered. Arkon cdidn't answer, he couldn't focus- He suddenly threw Thiral off him and scrambled up, wincing. Thiral landed harshly on his hip, but then rolled back to his feet with a single motion- The grin was gone with his face, replaced with a dark snarl.
The two rushed at eachother, and Arkon tackled down Thiral onto a small coffee table- The table splintered and broke into tiny piece and Arkon kicked the sword out of Thiral's hand. Thiral hissed and growled and Arkon growled back. The hatred was clear in Thiral's eyes as Arkon pinned downhis arm with his foot and Arkon punched him in the face.
Thiral gave a shout of pain, blood falling down his face from his nose. He used his other hand and reached, fingers wrapping around Arkon's ankle, the one where Arkon had his other arm pinned, and jerked, twisting it painfully.
Arkon yelped, and let up, and Thiral shoved him off- but Arkon wasn't done.
He clambered to his feet, and the two went at it, tearing at each-other, punching, blocking, clawing. Thiral was fast, and he got more hits in than Arkon and was usually able to dodge the hits.
Thiral suddenly gave Arkon a painful punch to the gut, making him gasp and double over. Thiral took this chance and seized the fornt of Arkon's clothes, throwing him directly into a wall. Cracks appeared where Arkons body had hit.
Arkon gasped and slid to the floor, unable to get up- Every time he tried, a shooting pain would shoot up his ribs, and his leg.
Thiral chuckled and kicked up the Death Blade, seizing the handle as he walked over. Arkon looked up, glaring at him.
"L-Look, I'll do anything, just don't hurt my kids or Perri," Arkon pleaded. His eyes were glazed and shining.733Please respect copyright.PENANAg0KN67I9xF

Thiral tilted his head, a smile playing on his lips.
"I'll think about it," Thiral said simply, and he immediately sunk the blade deep into his chest, piercing his heart. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAEO67pWMWa1

Arkon didn't even get to scream, his lips parted and he arched. Blood filled his mouth and spilled out off his chin onto his clothes. He relaxed and then he slumped to the floor as Thiral drew the blade out, watching as the blood pooled around Arkon and the life poured out of his eyes like it was being sucked out.
Arkon was dead.

"I've got it all!" Talyn came trotting into the camp, holding some bags from the supermarket, with Iris at her side. "Everything for S'mores!" She dumped the bags contents; Graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows and sticks.
Valerie looked over at them curiously, her head tilting to the side. Carina was grinning and practically drooling.
"I loves S'mores," said Carina. She tore open the bag of marshmallows, while Will struggled to open the plastic bag of sticks.733Please respect copyright.PENANAHAgVKx1zEh

Clint just sighed and took the bag from him, tearing it open with his teeth. "Why didn't you just do that?" Clint huffed, spitting the piece of plastic into the fire.
Will showed off his braces. "Because my teeth are sore. " He shrugged.
"Oh, I nearly forgot," Talyn said, looking at Will. "You're not allowed to have marshmallows!"
Will shushed her, and Talyn giggled, passing Valerie a stick.
"Why do you have them?" Carina asked Will, his head tilting. "Is it for fashion?"
"Oh, no." Will shook his head. "It's just to make my teeth pretty. Make them all nice and straight."
"You're not pretty or straight," Talyn mumbled. Iris stepped on her shoe but only Iris and Valerie heard her. Valerie turned away.
Will went on. "Im gonna get them off in three weeks," he said. "I can hardly wait. "
Valerie was looking at the metal on Wills teeth. "Do they hurt?' she asked.
Will shook his head. "Well..Not really. But for the first few days they're just sore. But nothing too bad. I handled it."
"You cried," Iris reminded him, arching an eyebrow, her marshmallow hanging over the fire.
Will flushed, and went silent. Carina giggled.
"I think yours is done," Clint said to Valerie. She brought the stick up snd he took it, setting it on a Graham cracker. Valerie watched with interest. He then put the chocolate and then anoyher cracker.
"Here you go," Clint said and she took it in her hand. It smelled wonderful.
She bit into it, her mouth exploding with flavor. It was gooey and warm and sweet and crunchy. She ate it quickly, then ate some more.
The entire group polished off all the marshmallows, snd then Carina and Iris fell asleep leaning against one another, faces covered in chocolate, illuminated by the soft orange glow of the fire.
Talyn announced that she was going home to sleep in her own bed, and walked off, rubbing her tummy as she went.
Will had just begun to fall asleep, but Clint nudged him awake and told him to go home so he could put on his rubber bands. Grumbling, he got up snd stumbled out, rubbing his eyes and yawning.
Valerie had gotten sleepy too, her eyes rested on the fire. She willed them not to close.
"What do you think of the camp?" Clint asked her.
Valerie slowly looked at him. "Its nice.."
"Do you think this could ever be your home?"
There was a moment of silence. But then Valerie turned back to the fire and shrugged.

Nanook, four years old now, squeezed Perris hand. They were in a dark room and Perri was holding her daughters hand through the thick metal bars of her cell.
Nanook was frowning deeply, her eyes watered. "Why can't you come out, mom?" She asked quietly.
Perri dropped her gaze, blinking away the tears. "I don't know, Nanook..I'm sorry. But it's nearly time to-"
Thiral walked in, right on cue. Both Nanook and Perris head snapped to him.
"That's enough time," he said. "No more. "
"That's not en-" Perri started to argue but when he turned his furious and warning gaze on Perri the words died in her throat. She let go of Nanooks hand.
"Go," said Perri. "Till next time."
Thiral turned on his heel and reluctantly Nanook followed him, avoiding his eye. Every time he looked at her, she felt small and weak. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAHrfU3LXmjU
733Please respect copyright.PENANAuPemLm8lvl
She didn't like that feeling at all.
The door slammed shut behind them, and Nanook flinched. She frowned and then kept walking.
She turned to look up at him. "Why do you have mom down there?" She asked quietly.
Thiral looked startled at her boldness of such a question. He looked at her and she got that one feeling and turned away. All he said was, "Don't ask those questions, brat!"
She frowned and hurried off, heading to her room. She was trying to find her siblings, Alex and Lariba. She couldn't stand not being with someone for more than ten minutes.
She found them in the playing room, where they were just starting to pick up. Thiral poked his head in and Alex and Lariba looked up, looking like they were bracing themselves.
"What the hell?" He hissed. "Why is this place such a mess?"
"We-We we're playing- We'll pick up!" Alex promised, collecting some toys.
"You better!" He snapped. He turned and stalked off.
They all picked up the pieces and toys in silence, Nanook trying hard to push the thought of her mom from her mind.
That night, Nanook was snuggled up between Alex and Lariba, feeling peaceful and safe underneath the covers, their body heat warming up her.
She didn't want to leave them. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAzFaOLTaXlw

Later that night, at around ten, Nanook crept into the kitchen for some water, her tail swishing as she got the cup.
She filled it with water and Thiral lumbered in, fully dressed.
Nanook turned then looked away, not realizing the water was overflowing.
"Hey!" Thiral snapped and she jumped at his tone, so that water spilled more onto the floor. "You're making a mess!"
"Sorry," Nanook whispered, and she set her cup down as she rushed to get some towels. She dropped to the floor and started to pick it up, then threw the sodden paper into the trash. Thiral glared down at her.
Thiral eyes flit to the clock. 10:20. If he was gonna do this, it had to be now.
"Come with me, rat," he said. Without waiting for a response he whipped out of the room. Nanook hesitated, but then hurried after in his wake, jogging to keep up with his huge steps.
He walked into the throne room, the very room where Nanooks father had been killed and sat down- Directly on the throne.
Nanook looked around, feeling anxious and confused, fidgeting with her hair. Her hands shook.
Thiral was watching the clock, and Nanook fought the urge to ask why they were in this room- but bit back the words. She knew better.
The clock struck 10:30. Thiral head snapped towards Nanook, his eyes ablaze.
Nanook stood there for a few minutes, staring at the floor. Suddenly, she felt very very cold. She shivered, and her little body tensed up in pain and discomfort. 733Please respect copyright.PENANAcK1P4qrx6Q

Her body lifted off the ground a few inches, tense and still. White embers flew off of her hair from all directions- and all the black vanished from her skin and returned to normal like it was simply being blown off.

He didn't answer her, just simply gripped her arm and hauled her up.
Her legs felt shaky, Thirals grip on her arm so hard she was sure she would get a bruise. He dragged her out of the room, and Nanook asked where they were going, what he did to her. But he didn't answer her questions, just ignored her completely.
They walked down, and the lighting got dimmer. Nanook realized where they were heading and struggled and kicked, but Thiral didn't release her. He opened up the door, dragged Nanook in and let it swing shut with a slam behind him.
Perri looked up from her cell. Her eyes went wide. "Wh- Nanook-?"
"Mom!" She cried, looking fearful.
Thiral walked a few more paces then released Nanook, where she ran to her mother's cell and clung onto her hands.
"Thiral! What's going on?" Perri demanded. He did not answer. He just busied himself with a mark on a clear wall.
A large portal appeared suddenly, lighting up the dim room. Perri and Nanook shielded their eyes.
Thiral grabbed Nanook again. She kicked, turning to her mom. "MOM! Mom help me!" She cried, tears leaking from her eyes. Nanook stared at her mother's face; the heavy bags prominent in the lighting, her chapped lips- and the fear in her eyes.
Perri was screaming at Thiral, tears pouring from her eyes. She turned back to Nanook, realizing that she was powerless against Thiral. She had to get a few words to her daughter before Thiral sent her away from her only home..733Please respect copyright.PENANA4ZfXZMOjbG
