"We're going to die. That's how life works. We are all born and then in the blink of an eye we're dead. Don't you get it? Everyone that will ever live is going to start off as a soft and curious child and end up rotting away in the ground, or as a pile of ash. It doesn't matter. None of this matters because we never really leave a trace. Everyone that has ever lived and will ever live is going to follow the same path, until the last breath passes the last person's lips," she shouted, angrily brushing tears away.
"But all of this does matter. Life isn't over in the blink of an eye. It's made up of moments. We can make the most of that path and try to change the world. People don't just come into existence then die. They live. Every breath they take is one of potential," he paused and took a breath. "People can make an impact, and you just don't want to see that because you're scared. But everyone is scared of something. People are scared of life, and scared of death, and of everything in between. But you can overcome fear. People will help you fight your dragons. Even when it seems useless to fight, it isn't because those moments are worth every second you have. You might have a life that's nothing but a clock slowly ticking away until death, but every time the hand moves and you don't use that time, it's wasted. So don't waste it because it can be used to create an impact on someone, and it can be used to create those moments. That time can be used to live and experience everything. You do leave a trace. You've left a trace on me, and on everyone that loves you. I love you." he exhaled and glanced at her. She was sobbing now, but laughing at the same time.
"You love me? Why? Why would anyone truly care? I've only ever screwed things up, so why would anyone want a screw-up?" she said.
"You aren't a screw-up. I care because you have the biggest heart in the world and you feel so much and because you are perfect. I love you because you've tried so hard to help everyone that you forget about yourself," he said.
"You said life was made up of moments. To not waste the time I have. Was all of that just a way to get me to use my time by doing this?" she asked.
"Doing wha--" he began to reply, but was cut off by her lips pressing against his. "Oh. Doing that."
A/N: This is a longer section of dialogue I randomly wrote. As a few of you know, my friend Brooke is chronically ill, and we've had a few conversations on Skype or through texting like this (I'm the male role though because I'm the one designated as a kind of group therapist for my friends. I am the most emotionally stable of a lot of my friends, which isn't saying much, but it allows me to help them and show them that I care about them, so it's worth everything to me). Well except the kissing part because that'd be weird and she's like a sister to me. Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
