Welcome to Frost Storm Blogz. This is the first issue and I'm going to give a run down. Up until July-ish I intend to use each Sunday to discuss a random topic be it something about my writing, my life, a rant, a review (in-depth), whatever really. On that note though I'm also writing these the day of so there won't be a backlog of content to upload. I'll also slip updates in these if at all possible. Writing everything as it comes to mind, pauses and all.
On that note as well, welcome to I Love To Read Month where I will begin debuting with (already posted) Sins of Fate and of course Frost Storm Blogz. This Saturday I'll be dropping Dancing Shadows. Next Wednesday I'll upload the first of Light Against Dark, and then the following Tuesday will come the Star Wars fanfic stuff. To those wondering if I'll even be able to keep up, well... Ravenlight will be done for Pitmad come March 7th so that'll free me up. This and Dancing Shadows are for fun with no real plot. The Star Wars fanfic is based off of a D&D Star Wars Style I came up with so I already know where to go with that... and honestly, everything just excites me this year so I want to give it my all.
Anyway, today's topic, let's go with a look back on 2018 and my hopes for 2019 shall we?
Last year I feel was a bit of a mess. I wanted to give uploading regularly a try while keeping it somewhat fresh by making it up as I went. Sadly I floundered as time went on and started dishing out rushed products. This was the decline of my Zero Dantez history. I knew right away I needed to do 2019 different though really I haven't changed much. I'm still writing only a few days in advance but I do have plans for each project. More on that later.
The first project, Red River, flopped. I intended to base it on real life as much as possible while keeping it fictional. That was never going to work because it isn't my style to restrict myself that much. Will I ever pick Red River back up? Doubtful unless I give myself more freedom. The intent of the project though was to base it on real people & give them significance.
Project Dreamscapers was another I intended to go further with though really it was sort of an alpha/beta product that would later become Sins of Fate, except kid friendly. While I can do kid friendly that just suffered due to me making it up as I went. Could I return to it and make it better? Perhaps. Time will tell on that as well.
Nightwalkers was the only one I thought to save because the concept, while originally rushed, worked. Volume 0 was a perfect intro into what would come. Hard to believe me wanting to do a supernatural fight on top of a train would turn into multiple chapters of what Nightwalkers was. Yes, that's what inspired it, me wanting to do that fight. Amazing right? Obviously this one had room to continue because I could explore the oppressive church or explore the Halfling more or that sort of thing.
Then of course I was uploading Midnight at the tail end of its life. Obviously that, too, was destined to die as a new project in the form of Ravenlight took its place. I more or less fumbled with Midnight: self publishing it, vendor publishing it, uploading it for free, etc. I couldn't professionally do much with it so I gutted what I wanted to keep and drastically changed the story. Will I ever upload the 7 Books of Midnight? Perhaps. I want to see what I can do with Ravenlight first.
And that is essentially how 2018 went for me, the broken start of something fun.
Obviously 2019 has some different content. I spent all of November-January planning it out, having intended to do much of it since last July. Problem is while planning it out I wasn't planning on fully dropping Midnight like I did so it caused some delays. It was planned but not written in advance. Plus side though, my writing mojo has been explosive and hyped so I can easily crank out content and not feel like it's a 'have to', more like a 'want to'.
I won't elaborate on each individual project since I've done that more than enough as it is right now; however I will go into my upload plans. I plan to use February to begin uploading the stories and stay consistent. I might take 'some' days off if I fall short though for the most part that'll mean I either just double up on a day or extend my writing period plans.
At the moment I intend to take everything up until that first week of July, at which point I'll be taking a break for the most part. Originally I had intended to take 3 full projects through the Summer and put 3 on break but I have since decided to take a different approach. Everything will go normal until the 4th of July, at which point only Sins of Fate will continue to be updated. There will be one issue of this Blog uploaded after the 4th but that'll be the end of that until the 2nd week of September.
So basically from the 2nd week of July till the 2nd week of September I will be taking a content break to both: catch up on that, focus on Ravenlight publishing, and a few other things at hand including a possible animation. Sins of Fate will be updated though throughout that time up until the 1st week of September, at which point I'll take a week off from that too. It will all continue up until October at which point 1 by 1 everything will start to end.
At present I have yet to decide if Sins of Fate will have a Winter upload season or if it'll go on break until 2020 because I really want to tear into it with all the ideas have, though by November I might be wanting to get to prepping for 2020, as well as prepping for whatever Ravenlight #1 will become.
So yeah, there's a lot going on which is just how I like it. I might do something different during the Summer or I might not do anything. Same can be said for Winter. It all just depends. I might even expand my thoughts for everything I wanted to hold off on during Summer and add content to make it go through Summer and still into October.
With that I'm going to end things off and just mention what I intend to get to in the coming weeks. Next week I'll likely start explaining my writing journey as it has been up until the point of Midnight. After that I'll devote an issue to explaining Midnight from start to its first publishing, then explain self publishing up until the end, then explain the process around Ravenlight. I also would like to do some other things like rank the Akatsuki or Espada or do Goku vs Superman (I did that already on Wattpad but I'll do a more refined edition).
This is going to be a fun year and this is the perfect month to kick things off. Wooooo!!!!!!!!
