The scariest part is how young they are

When the cruel words first fall

So desperate to make their mark

It’s terrifying how young they start

Secrets are whispered, secrets are screamed

Lies are held close to the heart to keep

The fake facade is held in front of your face

Don’t let the mask slip or you’ll be theirs to take

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How do you want to be remembered

What do you want your legacy to be

The worst part of being forgotten

Is losing all the memories

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know how I’ll remember you

The same way you’ll remember me too

Golden shadows as we ran from the sun

Burned down the world god it was fun

Grass stains on our clothes and stardust in our hair

Scattering our laughter everywhere

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They light up the world with flames of hate

Pick a side, there is no debate

Violence, anger, bloodshed, rage

This is how they lock us in a cage

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

History decides if you were right or wrong

If your name is hated or praised to God

Ripping wings off insects or arms off people

Giant microscope hovering over the beetle

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Trust no one they say

You’ll always lose

Look both ways

Numb the blues

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know how I’ll remember you

The same way you’ll remember me too

Golden shadows as we ran from the sun

We’ll survive the mud and the grime

Stay standing when empires fall

Morals are cheap, a dozen a dime

Tsunami erases them all
