Eventually, Anvi laughed at herself.
Why was I expecting them to smile at me or greet me? I barely know them. I've never even spoken to them.
Standing in front of the mirror, she shook her head with an amused smile.
"What nonsense I was thinking," she whispered before returning to finish her homework.

January 2017
A few days had passed since Anvi joined the school.
By now, she had formed a small circle of friends. Gradually, almost everyone in her class had started talking to her. They laughed at her jokes, included her in conversations, and treated her warmly.
She had a feeling there was a reason behind all the sudden attention.
Or perhaps...
She simply chose to ignore it.
Aravinth, one of her classmates, had developed a huge crush on her almost the moment she joined the school. His friends jokingly called it love at first sight, and before long, nearly the entire class knew about it.
Everyone...
Except Anvi.
Or at least, that's what everyone believed.
One afternoon during the break, while the girls were chatting together, Libhiya suddenly asked,
"Anvi... do you know Aravinth from our class?"
"Yeah... why?"
"He likes you. Like... a lot. What do you think about it?"
The rest of the girls immediately turned towards Anvi, eagerly waiting for her response.
Inside, she couldn't help but smile.
So... I was right.
But he's not my Mr. Right.
And honestly... I'm not looking for love.
Keeping those thoughts to herself, Anvi casually shrugged.
"Is that so? I didn't know about it. But... I'm really not interested in all this right now."
Her friends exchanged knowing glances, but before anyone could continue the conversation, the Discipline Coordinator walked into the classroom.
"Everyone, assemble immediately. JEE coaching is about to begin. All Class XI students must report to Class XI-A."
The conversation came to an abrupt end.
The classroom instantly burst into activity as everyone grabbed their notebooks and hurried outside.
Anvi and her friends reached the classroom a little late.
By the time they entered, the coaching instructor had already introduced himself. Since everyone referred to him as IIT Sir, Anvi simply followed along.
The classroom felt completely different from hers.
It belonged to the CS-Maths section.
Barely five girls were seated among nearly forty-five boys, making the room feel overwhelmingly male-dominated.
As her eyes wandered across the classroom, she noticed several familiar faces from her tenth-standard days.
She acknowledged them with a brief glance before quietly taking her seat.
After the JEE session ended, everyone dispersed for the break.
Libhiya introduced Anvi to one of her friends from Class XI-C, an Arts-CS student named Sneha.
The two exchanged warm smiles.
Before Anvi could even introduce herself properly, Sneha tilted her head and asked,
"So... are you planning to get committed? Do you like someone? Or are you already in love?"
For a moment, Anvi froze.
Oh, God...
Why is everyone obsessed with love?
I'm not interested!
And who is this girl? I met her literally five seconds ago!
Somebody save me...
"Anvi..."
Sneha waved a hand in front of her face.
"Hello? Earth to Anvi! I'm talking to you."
Anvi blinked, snapped back to reality, and let out an awkward laugh.
"Uh... no. None of that."
Sneha raised an eyebrow.
"Really?"
Anvi simply smiled.9Please respect copyright.PENANA5hI08YprMq
