Chapter 1:The Meeting
The air felt strange that day.
I walked beside my mother ,the sound of our footsteps echoing louder than usual. We were going to meet the Chief Minister. Not the one everyone talked about—someone else. Someone unfamiliar.
The building stood tall, silent… watching.
Inside, people moved, but something felt wrong. Their expressions were blank. Their movements… too perfect.
“Amma… something feels off,” I whispered.
Before she could respond, a man approached us.
“Voter ID?” he asked.
My mother froze. “I forgot it.”
For a second, everything went silent.
Then the man smiled strangely. He took a photo of her with his phone.
In front of my eyes… it changed.
The photo turned into a voter ID.
Just like that.
My heart started beating faster.
This is not normal.
