The son and mother's heartily laughter caught the attention of the rest of the family, and they all came rushing to check on Damien.
His little sister May, jumped on bed. His little brother Dani stared at him shyly. He is reserved for his brother's physical health and worries he would do upon him harm if he touches him carelessly. Dani has always been a fearful child with a heart of Gold. The day Damien went missing, Dani searched up and low the entire farm. He asked the neighbours ,and explored the near borders of Bra'mi forest. Dani is scared of the farm animals. He is terrified of people and he is phobic of the forest. But nothing has ever daunted on him more heavily than the idea of losing his big brother.
May was preparing missing posters. She tore her brother's clothes and shoved them in Duster's nose. The poor dog was utterly confused. She wrote a letter to her father imploring him to return immediately from his trip in order to find his son. Moreover, she comforted her mother.204Please respect copyright.PENANAtoQ4LKTxZU
"It's okay mommy. You know he probably just got lost and will find his way soon. Don't worry, if he's not back by lunch I'll wake old man jun up, to help us find him. It's about time he made himself useful. Just like you always say, right mom?" The little girl laughed and swiped her mother's back. All with a show of strength and invulnerability. Now that her brother's in front of her, all of her need for composure faded and a young child bursted with emotion. She started batting him on the head and crying uncontrollably "Where the hell were you??? You made us all scared!! I- I missed you! Your name is no longer Damien, it's dummy! because you're a dummy!!"
However, the one who had it worse was by far Damien's mother, Agatha. She could not sleep a wink last night, when her son failed to come back. After she had put Dani and May to sleep, she first pulled a map from her husband's study room. Secondly, on that map she drew a circle. Centered in the middle of the rock paved road. Reaching a distance of what she estimated a day's travel on foot. Thirdly, she marked four landmarks, when connected encircled the area quite cleanly. Fourthly, she travelled by carriage to the furthest mark along the family route. On her company was a lamp to light her way and a small bag of necessary supplements. She had hoped to find her son on the way and so annul her trip, but Damien was hidden under a pile of dirt to the dark side of the road. She did not see anything and continued her trip quickly to the western most landmark to place a scribed orb there. She continued hastily to the second, third and fourth marks to repeat the process, all before early morning. On the fourth landmark, which was an abandoned alchemist tower, she pulled a scroll and pen from her bag. The young woman struggled to draw a magic circle from memory, but managed to pull through. She then bit her finger with her sharper canine. A couple beads of blood descended on the circle whil elegant incantations left her lips. Light filled the tower's interior. The orb shined brightly and Agatha got up in sweat. She mounted her horse and returned to the farm at once. Once she got back and found yet no news of her son, she couldn't do anything but sit and wait at the porch. The orbs she placed now connect to create invisible magical borders. If any living human being passes by the square perimeter, she will be able to sense the exact location of the breach and give chase. That was the best precaution she believed could be made. Lastly, she is now free to contemplate potential search missions. That was until she heard her son's cries from afar.
Damien showered with all the love and concern his family held for him, began to cry and ask for forgiveness. He felt it vital to explain the account of events which befell his lofty visit to town. The cause of the sudden visit was blurred, for Damien was undetermined to disclose his strange visions with the family yet. He told them about his wish to check on mr. ensho and added no more layers to his motive. He related the walk back and his encounter with the beast and how he avoided his hungry claws. The family gasped at the mention of a lethal threat. Damien depicted the events vivedly but failed, or had subconciously chosen not, to describe his own emotional turmoil. The sleep deprived Agatha along her two youngest, consoled their poor boy. Agatha knew that her sensitive son was scarred, if not physically then mentally and she tried her best to nurse him back to cheerfulness. As did his siblings. They also went on to alert the neighbours of the danger since they also border the Bra'mi forest. If by any chance, that bear wanders too close to the edge of this hill, the farm hands should be prepared. The neighbouring farms spread the word and soon the situation entered public discourse.
News of the bear’s surfacing on in Bra'mi forest ignited much debate. Many of the townsfolk denied the story, saying it was a blind child’s delusions. He can not even see the bear. He was not harmed by it, therefore he most likely got it wrong.
Insidious encounters represent impactful information to relevant institutions. If the guild receives word of a threat on public safety and wellfare, they are legally demanded to dispatch appropriate forces in order to suppress the threat. Consequently, they are motivated to deny claims of such threats. The adventurers employed are spread thin. The guild prefers not to call back their adventurers to satisfy an unpaid legal obligation. They would rather avoid the trouble. As a result, a few guild officials were heard to support the denouncement of Damien's story. As such follows their argument:
It is only rational to assess these tails with a logical set of lenses. It is still hibernation season. There is little to no reports of bears waking from slumber this early on. The boy is... poorly abled. To consider such disposition is not intended to undermine his sincerity. Quite the contrary! it is to help him defeat superstition and shun away unnecessary fear among citizens.
This line of thought propogated. Circulations modified the tone and soon enough, a majority of the townspeople started calling Damien a bitter liar seeking attention, because he feels left out due to his handicap. Mixed feelings of pity and anger shadowed his reputation and the alert for bear activity completely failed.
