Minoru and Kimiko really didn’t want to bring Artemis with them, not because she was bad or anything, it's just that they didn’t want anything to happen to Artemis. Then there’s what happened when they went out with Momo but here we are. Minoru, Kimiko, and Artemis sneaking around the city. They walked around until they got to a playground. It was old and decaying with the nice spice of dead children in a mix of undead children.
“How nice.” Minoru said bluntly.
“Yeah, I mean who wouldn’t want to come and play here.” Kimiko said sarcastically at Minoru’s words.
“I mean the blood really does light this place up.” She continued while Artemis looked at them trying to figure out if they were taking this seriously.
“Yeah, It really does, also the dead flower on the stairwell adds a nice touch of color.” Minoru responded.
“Mhm.” Kimiko hummed in agreement.
“Wtf, We are literally in a danger zone and you guys are more concerned with talking about the playground and how ‘nice’ it looks!?” Artemis said.
“What? We’re bored.” They said in unison.
“I think we should take Artemis to the oh-so-deadly hospital.” Minoru suggested.
“Why would I go there again? I fell through the floor and ended up getting stabbed.” Kimiko said with such delight.
“Why not? And it would be hilarious.” Minoru said while grinning.
“Mkay.” Kimiko said. Artemis was confused at this point. Minoru and Kimiko started their walk to the hospital while Artemis walked behind them.

They stood in front of the decrepit hospital and then went inside.
“You sure this is a good idea?”, Artemis asked sincerely.
“Never said it was a good idea.” Minoru said back at her.
“Yeah, he said it would be a hilarious idea.” Kimiko responded.
“You don’t mind the sight of dead bodies, right?” Kimiko asked.
“Why?” Artemis asked in return.
“Behold!” Kimiko said while holding her hands out in a sideways v shape. Presenting the dead body of the receptionist. Artemis was not pleased with their teasing. She looked at the both of them, looking like she would rip off their heads. Kimiko brought Minoru and Artemis further into the hospital until they got to the hallway with the rooms labeled R2.
“This is the hallway Momo and I went through until the floor opened up under me. It’s in the room at the end.” Kimiko explained. They made sure not to walk too far down the hall. Artemis entered a room labeled R2-87 within the room was a hospital chair under the large light things. She looked over at the white counters to see a closed-off jar. It held a clear liquid in it.
“Hey Minoru, come look at this!” Artemis called out. Minoru walked in and joined Artemis in looking at the liquid.
“What do you think it does?” He asked.
“I don’t know.” Artemis said as Minoru picked up the jar and opened it. It didn’t have a scent. Minoru brought it up to his lips and drank it even though he knows better than to drink an unknown liquid especially if it doesn’t have a smell.

He lowered it from his mouth and looked at Artemis.
“It tastes good.” He said,
“And I feel better soooo.” He held it out for Artemis to try. Artemis grabbed it.
“We still shouldn’t drink it!?” She said, also knowing the potential danger.
“Whatcha doin'?” Kimiko said as she burst through the door. Artemis dropped the jar and it shattered.
“What were you guys doing?” Kimiko asked again as she took her eyes away from the broken jar.
“I saw this jar full of liquid so I called over Minoru and he drank it!” Artemis explained.
“Oh come on, it's fine.” Minoru sounded defensive.
“Don’t drink random things that you find!” Kimiko told Minoru.
“We both agreed to not drink things we find especially if there isn’t a smell! That could have been poison!” Kimiko continued on.
“Sorry?” Minoru said but he didn’t sound sorry at all.
“I do feel a bit better…Never mind.” He said.
“What are you feeling right now, Minoru?” Kimiko asked in high concern.
“I feel sick.” He said.
“Alright come lean on me. Artemis you're gonna have to be our eyes and ears for a bit.” Kimiko told Artemis while she went over to help Minoru. Kimiko wrapped her arm under Minoru’s arm and slowly pushed him forward.
“We have to go back early.” Kimiko said to Artemis. Artemis walked in front of the unit behind her. She listened as Kimiko gave her directions out of the city and kept an eye and ear out for zombies.

They finally returned home after a few close calls. Kimiko brought Minoru into his room and set him on his bed. Artemis went to Casper to tell her about what happened while they were out.
“And the Minoru drank the water!”
“Why would he do that?”
“I don’t know but then he offered it to me.”
“Did you drink it?”
“No.”
Momo walked into the room and listened to their conversation for a bit. She wondered about Artemis's adventure when she had gone out, so she stood by the door frame and continued to listen to Artemis and Casper talk.
“Now he’s sick.”
“Well, he kinda did it to himself.”
“Yeah, but I still shouldn’t have said or done something to stop him!”
“It’s not your fault.”
Momo listened as Artemis began to tear up and Casper brought her into a hug of comfort. Momo left the door frame and walked down the stairs and into the living space where Hana was sitting down on the wooden floor.
“Hey, Hana!” Momo said happily.
“OOOOOO HI!” Hana said in her usual loud and upbeat voice.
“I was just thinking about going over to Minoru to check in on him since he’s sick. Would you like to join me?” Hana asked Momo.
“Sure, Hana.” Momo said as Hana got up off the floor to walk upstairs.
“Come on then.” Hana said as she grabbed Momo by her arm to take her to the stairs. As they exited to living space they entered the hallway. The hallway had two drawers in it. They kept paper and other such supplies in them. There were paintings along the walls from all the different artists that currently live there, Momo, Artemis, Kimiko, and Casper.

It’s been a few days since Minoru drank the clear liquid and he was slowly recovering from his own stupidity. He still wasn’t in good enough shape to go out into the city so Kimiko was left to choose between Momo and Artemis. Kimiko stood in the living space while staring down at Momo and Artemis who were sitting on the couch. Neither of them knew why they were there but they had a pretty good guess as to why.
“So, I need to take one of you out to the city for a supply run.” Kimiko said flatly.
“Momo, would you like to go with Kimiko?” Asked Artemis. Momo looked over her shoulder to look at Artemis. She was in deep thought until she responded.
“I think you should go.” Momo said after a few minutes of silence.
“Hmmm” Artemis hummed to herself before giving an answer, “I’ll go as long as we don’t go to the hospital again.”
“Fair enough.” Kimiko said dryly at the answer.

Kimiko and Artemis grabbed what they needed for the outing of the today. Kimiko took Artemis to a hotel. The sign on the gate read ‘Lindisfarne Hollies’. Artemis peered through the bars to see a long hotel instead of a hotel built to the sky. It was white with a blue entrance. Then Artemis saw the gate because Kimiko had started to climb over the gateway, she dropped up on the other side.
“You comin?” She asked, “Just throw the bags over, I’ll catch them.”
Artemis threw the bags over and grabbed the gate. Pulling herself up the gate one bar at a time. Artemis sat at the top and looked down, seeing the ground while Kimiko stood nearby. Artemis slowly descended the gate and then dropped down to the ground.
“So how was climbing a gate?” Kimiko said as Artemis touched the ground.
“You do this often?”
“Eeehhh…Yeah. Though it's usually with Minoru.” Kimiko answered like she wasn’t really sure of the real answer, “He’s a lot faster than you are.” She said firmly.
“Wow, I feel so appreciated.” Artemis said in a monotone while staring directly at Kimiko.
“As you should.” Kimiko said. She turned around while chuckling at herself. Walking towards the hotel they saw another sign buried in the bushes,
“Artemis, you go open the door while I go look at this sign.” Kimiko said while parting ways to the bush. Artemis walked up the stairs to the closed-off doors. Peering inside revealed a big room with a wooden desk to the left and an eating area to the right.
“There’s not much in here that I can see.” Artemis said to break the overbearing silence. However she didn’t hear a response so she looks over at where Kimiko is…or was because she’s not there anymore. Panic. Where did she go? Did she disappear again or did she just walk off without saying anything?

Kimiko walked back around the building side to see Artemis panicking from behind. Kimiko had started to trail the area of the hotel to see if there was an easier way in. Kimiko stood there watching Artemis search for her. Kimiko wondered if she should say anything because the zombies would hear if Artemis yelled. Kimiko walked up behind Artemis.
“Hey.” Kimiko whispered. Artemis whipped around and threw a punch, hitting Kimiko square in the face. Kimiko fell to the ground with a thud, holding her face in pain.
“Where did you go!?” Artemis whisper yelled.
“Around the building.” Kimiko said in a lightly high pitched voice.
“Oh well, don’t do that.” Artemis said.
“Yeah, got it.” Kimiko said while standing up and walking up the stairs to the hotel door.
“I was looking for an easier way in but I didn’t find one.” Kimiko said as a matter of fact. She walked up beside Artemis and tried to push the door open but it wouldn’t open.
“Help.” Kimiko asked but Artemis just started trying to stifle a laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Kimiko asked in a small accented voice but Artemis’s laughter only got louder so Kimiko stopped trying to open the door and looked directly at Artemis. Artemis crouched down to the ground,
“It’s a- its a pull on-only doo-oor!” Artemis finally exclaimed as the information dawned on Kimiko's face. Kimiko whipped around to the door to see the faded paint on the door saying ‘Pull Only’. Kimiko stood there and stared at the door as Artemis laughed at her for not noticing the paint.
“Shud up!” Kimiko whisper yelled at Artemis and then pulled open the door, low and behold it opened this time. They both walked in to see the building in pretty good condition compared to the hospital.

They looked around as they walked further in.
“Artemis?” Kimiko looked around with worry.
“Yeah?” Artemis asked.
“Let’s stay on the ground floor.” Kimiko said in a low tone.
“Why?” Artemis questioned.
“I don’t like the feeling of this place.” Kimiko said bluntly.
“So?”Artemis responded, trying to figure out if Kimiko was messing with her or not.
“My gut has never lied to me.” Kimiko said flatly.
“You sure?” Artemis wanted to know if this was a joke.
“Don’t test me.” Kimiko said in a harsh tone.
“Alright.” Artemis said wanting to back off. They walked around the front counter to get into the back. When they entered the backroom of the counter, there were old keys in buckets as key cards were in small compartments in the wall. Each compartment had a number for the corresponding room. There was a desk with monitors in rows stacked above each other, blueish screens and numbers with words across the bottom and top of the screens. Artemis noticed someone on the floor above them; she didn't get to have a clear view of them before the hooded figure hid. The movement was in CAM 24.
“Hey Kimiko?” Artemis called out.
“Hm?” Kimiko hummed.
“You know your bad feeling?” Artemis confirmed with Kimiko.
“Was I right?” Kimiko looked over her shoulder at Artemis.
“Yeah, there’s someone else here. In CAM 24 so room 24.”Artemis confirmed yet again. Kimiko didn’t respond at first, just stared out into space. She came back to her senses after about 2 minutes.
“Should we leave or make a plan ‘cause I’ve already got us a plan.” Kimiko said as she closed her eyes.
“You already have a plan!?” Artemis explained.
“Well Yeah.” Kimiko said as she stared at the floor.
“What?” Artemis asked, wanting to know this so-called plan of Kimiko’s.
“You stay in here and watch the camera’s while I go through the rooms and if you see something tell me by using the radios.” Kimiko explained her plan that didn’t have as much detail as Artemis originally planned.
“What about me? What if you get attacked or if I get attacked?” Artemis asked with serious concern.
“In that case…we have weapons to protect ourselves and you can hide somewhere, right?” Kimiko mentioned as she thought.
“Hide? Hide where dimwit?” Artemis asked Kimiko who clearly hadn’t thought about what Artemis should do.
“Um…can you fit between that cabinet and wall?” Kimiko asked as she waved at the wall.
“I can try.” Artemis said as she walked over to the cabinet. It looked like it would be a tight fit but Artemis might be able to get in. Artemis started trying to get behind the cabinet, it was cramped and compacked. The space confined and restricted. As Artemis stood there she saw Kimiko’s eyes look over at the camera’s and then her demeanor changed in an instant.
“Stay there, don't move. I’ll come get you when the coast is clear.” She said as she ran out of the room, leaving Artemis fearing what she had seen on the cams. Artemis stood there for what felt like hours until she heard footsteps getting closer. They were loud, too loud to be Kimiko’s. That’s when a tall man wearing a hooded cloak walked into the room. The tense feeling in the room got more thick as he searched the room top to bottom, seeming to look for something. He made his way towards the cabinet where Artemis was. She held her breath until a loud crash came from somewhere outside the room. He looked over to where the sound had come from then looked back at the cabinet. He continued this pattern, trying to decide if he should go or not. He looked at Artemis’s hiding place and started to move towards her. He moved the cabinets over and saw Artemis. He smiled a large in-human smile that showed off his unnaturally even and clean teeth.

He reached out and grabbed Artemis by the collar of her jacket, pulling her out of her hiding place. Artemis landed on the floor with a thud, looking up she saw the hooded man, his crazed smile and heavy eye bags. He lowered himself to the floor, getting into Artemis's personal space. Artemis tried backing away but he only got closer. His yellow-gold eyes pierced through her. He reached out and took hold of her arm, pulling it closer to his face. Artemis felt like something was being put in her body, like all her nerves were in overdrive. It looked as though he was about to bite into her arm but that’s when a metal pipe came down on his head. Kimiko stood there holding the metal pipe but it didn’t last long. Artemis was pulled up and dragged out of the room. Artemis got a hold of her footing and started running to the front door with Kimiko. They left the hotel and hid in the woods on the outskirts of the city.
“Who was that!?” Kimiko muttered out while gasping for breath.
“I have no idea but he was terrifying!” Artemis mumbled back while sitting down on a rock. They sat in front of a lake coming from a waterfall from the cliff side. It was a gorgeous sight of water flowing down and hitting the waters surface. The sound was calming after their nice, forced, run.
“He looked like he was crazy! Like crazy crazy type crazy!” Artemis told Kimiko while staring into the water. Artemis saw Kimiko nodding her head. Everything was calm until something made noise somewhere in the forest. Both of them looked up to see a large horse walking towards the lake.

The horse was all black, it stood taller than most horses. It probably came from the farm a few miles from where the lake was. It walked over and lowered its neck to drink the water and made ripples in the water. Kimiko stared in awe as Artemis looked up just a bit only to see yellow-ish eyes watching them. She started to tap Kimiko’s shoulder several times before Kimiko looked at her. Artemis pointed directly at the yellow eyes watching them. She stood up and started to back away as the yellow eyes started to come more into view. He stood right next to the horse which greeted him kindly. He spoke one word, “Subject R.” Then he got on the horse and rode away from the lake. Artemis and Kimiko walked home very disturbed and cautiously after that, looking up at every sound that was made by literally anything even if it was a bird chirping. Artemis opened the door to the old pale blue house that laid at the end of the pathway. Walking in felt like a great force had been lifted from their shoulders, as if a boulder had been taken off.
“Sooooo never again?” Kimiko said to break the unwavering silence.
“Never.” Artemis said firmly as she walked away to find Casper. Artemis walked down the ‘girls hallway’ to Casper’s door. There was a 3-D sign that had been hung on the door with a nail and thread. Artemis grabbed the handle and slowly creaked open the door.
“Who’s there?” Casper called out to the person who was rudely opening her door. Just then Artemis swung the door open, BAM!
“Hai!” Artemis said dead serious as she stared directly at Casper who was shocked.
“Why would you-” Casper begins before being cut-off.
“Because I can.” Artemis said while walking in to sit on Casper’s bed.
“That’s not an excuse.” Casper said plainly
“It is now.” Artemis said as she looked around the room. It was plastered with anime posters and figures. There were drawings on the desk and wall as well as stuffed animals that covered the upper and right side of the bed. It was very comfortable.
“So how was going out?” Casper asked Artemis after a long silence.
“It was fine, we went to a hotel then we ran away and then we went to a lake, met a horse, and then came back.” Artemis explained without going too far in detail.
“You didn’t get anything?” Casper asked more questions.
“No, the only thing we got was a scare.” Artemis confessed.
“Scare? By what?” Casper questioned Artemis.
“We met someone and he was terrifying.” Artemis said.
“Who did you meet?” Casper asked yet again.
“I dunno! He was just there and he followed us!!” Artemis called out in a rush.
“He followed you?” Casper asked but this time in surprise.
“We got away but it was horrifying!” Artemis said as she laid back onto the bed. Casper laid down next to her. They laid there for a long time until Momo came knocking on the door.
“It’s time for dinner.” Momo said as she opened the door. Artemis and Casper slowly got off the soft bed.

The three entered the dining room to see Akio and Minoru having a cat fight while Kimiko cheeried on Minoru. Hana was trying to calm things down but Akio, Minoru, and Kimiko never really listened to her. Now they all sat at there’re table. Akio looked out the opened window to see a figure in the trees but he shrugged it off. If there really was any danger then Kimiko or Minoru would have told them.
