“Naruto and Sasuke are both severely injured by Haku’s Crystal Ice Mirrors before the latter reveals his Uchiha lineage by awakening his clan’s inherited ability: the Sharingan. Analysis
There is an element of change on the part of Sasuke, who awakens his Sharingan. At that moment, we get to see the true abilities of the Sharingan; only this time we get to see them from someone from the Uchiha Clan. The Sharingan allows Sasuke to track Haku’s fast movements, which is why Haku sees Sasuke as a much bigger threat than Naruto.
Something is interesting in this episode in the sense that Sasuke saved Naruto from Haku’s attack by taking a hit that was meant for Naruto. When Naruto asked why he did it, Sasuke responded by saying that his body had just moved. This moment compels one to think of rhetorical questions like, Could this be the mark of a true friendship between Sasuke and Naruto? Does Sasuke consider Naruto to be someone who is precious to him and whom he is willing to protect? From my point of view, they will start to get along and become friends. To support this assumption, when Naruto believed that Sasuke had died in his arms, he became enraged about it which shows his caring nature towards his comrades.
Another interesting thing from this episode is that we got to see the chakra of the Nine-Tailed Fox, which is linked to the title of the episode, “The Broken Seal.” It refers to the seal Naruto has on his body to seal the Nine-Tails Chakra, which explains why Naruto could access the chakra through his rage. Moreover, it explains why Kakashi was worried because if Naruto loses control over the chakra, things could go wrong. Furthermore, the Nine-Tails Chakra can heal Naruto’s wounds, which gives Naruto an advantage in fighting Haku. There is more to the story about the Nine-Tails, which will be revealed in the sequel, Naruto Shippuden.
The lesson from this episode is that friends will always have your back and protect you, no matter what, just like Sasuke saved Naruto from Haku’s attack.
