she had been taken away from me.

as if she truly belonged to someone else

i realised then that this is what sorrow feels like.

to lose something so valuable

to lose someone so close to you

and to carry the dread of never seeing them again.

agony crammed into my heart 

my heart felt like disassociating into a hundred pieces 

a million pieces

but it couldn't be fixed with glue, or tape
