As you glide into soft, safe, sleep,

What strange force through you seeps?

What silent, strong power makes it so?

For once in the dark, daring, dead of night,

A spirited, strange old man came to my sight.

His soft, silver beard was like the glowing moon,

He hummed a happy, soaring, sleepy tune.

His robe was golden and glided as he hobbled,

Kindly he looked at me as he wobbled.
