Sunlight has gone away

Cold chilling wind blowing past my eyes

Walking under the yellowed streetlights

Those moving as they text their friends

Pulling down shutters of shop windows

Emptying out their bins for the waste collectors 

Padlocks clicking as their livelihood and soul slumbers

A warm home is calling

It won’t be the same for all

Blankets and cardboard boxes growing

Each week, it can take a toll
