I write to be free. Running away from the demons that haunt the corners of my mind. Sometimes writing puts them into cages they cannot ever escape. Writing is a way to leave this world for the briefest of moments. Every word put onto the page takes me one step farther from society and tragedy.  The fantasy worlds I create are nightmares that haunt me at night. The ones the medications cannot stop. These worlds from my dreams evolve and as I write them, they become a tiny bit less terrifying. Writing helps with my depression and anxiety. Putting those emotions into beasts and darkness on the page helps battling them everyday. I write to smile. For the feeling that you get when you type the final word of a story. The thrill when you edit your last sentence. When you laugh at a character doing a crazy antic during a weird scene. When you hit the publish button online websites to share with others. I write for the community. The connection you make with others when reading their works. Sharing and helping others to grow. Giving and receiving feedback. I write to help others.
