As Y/n got to the part of the forest that Susan's horn could be heard, she could see that Lucy and Susan were stuck up in a tall tree with a wolf at the base of the tree trying to get to them. Y/n wanted to do something but before she could she saw Peter running through the lake with his sword in hand. Y/n stepped back next to Aslan who had the other wolves pinned to the ground.
"We've already been through this boy. You don't have the guts" The wolf walked closer to Peter and he stepped back. Oreius and the others stepped forward to help him but Aslan stopped them.
"Stand down. This is Peter's battle." Y/n gave Aslan a look as if to say 'really?'. Y/n trusted Peter but she didn't know if he had enough guts to kill anything even if his sister's were in trouble. Peter was still standing there sword in his hand but he still looked helpless. Tears formed in Y/n's eyes, she felt guilty for not having faith in Peter but he was still standing there doing nothing.
"C'mon boy. You should've given your role to the Princess, at least she has the guts to kill." Peter looked straight at Y/n but she couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes. Within a second of Peter being distracted the wolf pounced on Peter and the both fell to the ground.
"PETER, NO!" Susan and Lucy screamed and everyone including Y/n ran over to Peter. Relief spread across the crowd as Peter pushed the wolf off of him, his sword covered in blood and he looked disgusted. Y/n helped the sisters get down from the tree and they immediately ran to him. Y/n stayed back by the tree, he needed her sister's right now. The other wolves ran off through the forest and Aslan gave Y/n a demanding look.
"Follow the wolves, they'll lead you to Edmund" Y/n demanded, so Oreius and the other warriors ran off into the forest. Aslan walked towards Peter.
"Peter, clean your sword." He ordered and Peter stepped in front of Aslan, placing his sword into the ground. The girls standing behind him watching in awe as Y/n still stood by the tree, faintly smiling.
"Rise, Sir Peter Wolfsbane - Knight of Narnia." The sisters gasped in excitement and Peter stood up with proud plastered all over his face. He looked over and Y/n and their eyes met, she gave him a smile and everyone in the crowd started clapping. The sisters walked back with the other animals and Aslan walked over with Peter.
"Princess, get Peter cleaned up. We have much to prepare for." I nodded and bowed as Aslan walked off.
"Are you okay?" Y/n asked, there was two cuts on his cheek and lip with sweat all over. He looked kinda hot honestly but Y/n didn't want to think about that.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Only a few cuts" He smiled. Y/n stepped closer to him and placed her hand on his cheek running her finger over his cuts. Their eyes met once more and they stayed there looking into each other's eyes. Y/n snapped out of her trance and took a deep breath.
"Right, let's get you back to the tent, Sir Peter Wolfsbane - Knight of Narnia." Y/n bowed jokingly and Peter laughed.
The walk back to the tent was quiet, neither one of them could deny the tension between them but neither of them wanted to address it. When they got to the tent Peter sat down on the sofa while Y/n got the first aid kit.
"So they haven't got any fancy magic for healing then?" Peter said. Y/n laughed and sat beside him.
"Well, they have but your sister holds that power and we need to save every last drop." Peter nodded and Y/n got out a cloth with some rubbing alcohol to clean the wound. She moved closer to him and started rubbing the cloth on the wound on his cheek. Peter flinched a few times but eventually sat contently with his eyes fully wide open only focusing on Y/n's eyes. Their faces were inches away from each other and Y/n was getting deja vu. Y/n placed a bandage over his cut and moved onto the injury on his lip, she got the cloth again and started to clean the wound. Y/n met Peter's eyes and he smiled slightly.
"Don't look at me like that." Y/n finally said.
"Why?" He replied. Y/n looked away and at the ground.
"You know why." Peter started to get agitated.
"Do I?" Y/n stood up and walked over to her bed.
"Because you've never actually given me a reason." Y/n could feel her eyes swelling with water but she didn't want to show him how much she cared.
"What do you want me to tell you, Peter?" She asked looking straight at him, trying not to show weakness.
"I don't know, Y/n. You could start with your past-"
"Don't. don't do that" Y/n tears now became visible and her voice became shaky. Peter instantly felt bad and tears formed in his eyes. Y/n started walking to the entrance of the tent, but Peter wouldn't let her go. Not this easily.
"Y/n wait-" Y/n stopped and a tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it off and carried on walking not saying a word. Until Peter's arms were wrapped round her from behind. He just wouldn't give up. Y/n didn't say a word, she just stood there.
"I'm sorry. I know you're not ready, but I get you have a past and I want you to know I don't care. Whatever it is. I want you to trust me, so whenever you're ready. However long it takes. I'll be here. I'm always gonna be here" Peter hugged her tighter and by now Y/n's cheeks were covered in tears. Up until now she's never let out her pain to anyone, she's always kept it bottled in and just swallowed it. But she felt safe and vulnerable with Peter, the way she didn't with anyone else. So she let herself go. Y/n turned around and hugged Peter, he held her tightly and Y/n's cries could be heard. He didn't say anything but just held her and he was rubbing his had along her hair. Y/n calmed down in a few minutes and broke the hug.
"I'm sorry" She laughed, wiping her face with her hand. A little embarrassed.
"Don't ever be sorry. You're not allowed to say that word" He cupped her face and wiped her tears with his thumbs, so gentle and loving. Y/n felt safe and comforted.
"You sure you want this?" Y/n asked looking up at him.
"It's too late, Princess. I see you" He kissed her forehead and hugged her one last time. His lips were soft and warm. Y/n smiled softly and they left the tent together hand in hand, finger interlocked. They got to the field and was talking to Susan and Lucy along with the other animals. Y/n was looking around for Aslan when she spotted him on the hill with none other than Edmund Pevensie. Y/n gasped and the others looked in the same direction.
"EDMUND!" Lucy screamed and started running towards him but Peter stopped her. Within a few minutes Edmund and Aslan were stood in front of us.
"What's done is done. There is no reason to bring up the past with your brother." Aslan spoke, then walked away to leave the siblings to speak.
"Hello.." Edmund shyly spoke looking at the ground. The sisters immediately hugged him and he hugged straight back. Y/n smiled softly and when Edmund looked at her, she winked and nodded her head as if to say 'It's okay'. Peter stayed off to the side and Y/n bumped his arm and notioned towards Edmund.
"How are you feeling?" Susan asked as they finally broke their embrace.
"A little tired." Edmund replied.
"Get some rest... and Edmund try not to run off again." The brothers both smiled at each other.
Everyone was gathered at a table ready for breakfast. Y/n was sat in the middle of Susan and Lucy with the two brothers in front. Edmund was piling toast onto his place and Y/n laughed.
"Narnia isn't going to run out of toast, Edmund" Lucy joked and he gave her a sarcastic look.
"Then you better pack some for the journey." Peter replied. Y/n's head immediately turned to Peter.
"So were going home?" Susan asked. Peter gave them a weak smile and looked down at his plate of food.
"You are, I promised I'd keep you three safe but there's no reason I can't stay and help" All the three siblings gave each other looks of fear.
"But they need us....all of us" Lucy pleaded.
"Lucy it's too dangerous. You almost drowned, Edmund almost got killed!" Peter exclaimed. Y/n knew what he said was probably right but she didn't want them to leave. They were starting to become her family.
"Which is why we have to stay." Edmund spoke up and all attention drew to him.
"I've seen what the White Witch can do and I've helped her do it. And we can't afford to leave these people behind to suffer for it." Y/n smiled proudly at him and he smiled back.
"Well, I guess that's it then." Susan says, while standing up from the table.
"Where are you going?" Peter shouted to her from afar.
"To get in some practice" Susan shouts back while raising her bow and quiver. Lucy jumps up from the table and follows.
"She has your arrogance, Peter." Y/n joked and Edmund started laughing.
"Oh ha ha" He replied and we both burst out laughing.
"Get some food in both of yous. Don't think you guys are skipping training." Y/n ordered and Edmund grabbed more toast which made the other two laugh. As Y/n watched them eat she realised how important they all were to her. Narnia. The animals. Lucy. Edmund. Susan. Aslan and Peter. Each held a special place in her heart that no one was gonna crack.
They saved her.
